Lizzy Caplan as Shae.

Think she has the looks, and with her part in "True Blood" she already have a tie to HBO.

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0135221/

Well, Shae is supposed to be hawt and this woman . . . isn't. She could perhaps qualify as a "handsome" woman. Maybe she could be one of Dany's handmaidens. Maybe she could be Quaithe, if we ever get a look behind the mask.

Long time lurker, first time poster.

Let me start of by saying some of the casting suggestions I have seen are idiotic. Sean Bean? Ralph Fiennes? Miley Cyrus? Can we keep this somewhat realistic and to people who don't suck (in the case of Miley). If I see another suggestion of somebody from that heap of crap Twilight I am going to scream. Ok, enough diatribe.

I have one must have cast member, who while in some movies recently, I think is gettable if he can have a 'major-ish' role. I think he would make a perfect Bronn but maybe that role isn't big enough:

Bronn - Shane Brolly (and best of all he is from Belfast!!!)

Other ideas:

Renly Baratheon - Nikolaj Coster-Waldau

Jahblar Xho - Eriq Ebouaney

Melisandre - Justine Waddell

Oberyn Martell (Red Viper) - Alexander Siddig (I would like to see the Dornish have a certain arabic/middle eastern look)

Loras Tyrell - Jamie Thomas King (This kid is just pretty)

And some other moderately big but still gettable names for some of the major characters:

Ceseri Lannister - Sophia Myles (Stunning, Regal, Blonde, and can play a good manipulative *itch)

Robert Baratheon - Marton Csokas (Add a beard and some weight...definitely Robert)

Martin McCann as Bronn

An NI native. Already has a connection with HBO, he stars in the upcoming 2010 WWII mini series ‘the Pacific’. Supposedly a rising star in his country, yet for all intents and purposes, he’s still – probably not for long- a relative unknown beyond borders. Could very well be the next Tom Hardy.

Malcolm Mcdowell as the Blackfish?

Pros: He fits the role and is one of the greatest actors alive.

Cons: Might be a little expensive.

MvDowell always strikes me as a bad guy - just has that 'creepy' vibe.

I'd like to see him in the series, but not sure where he belongs though.

The Blackfish has always been Sam Elliott in my heart, but I know that's a pipe dream.

Just like getting Gabriel Byrne as Davos would make me lick my TV screen,

Peter Stormare for Sandor Clegane!

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001780/

He has experience workng with Ingmar Bergman in theatre for 15 years, and he is one hell of an actor, did a sweet job of playing a merciless Mafia boss in Prison Break, he will make a damn good Sandor Clegane he has the physics and even his voice has Sandor in it.

Stormare would be good choice for many characters. Suggested him as Stannis myself.

I like your other suggestions, but Shane Brolly, from what I've seen, can't pass your "doesn't suck" criteria. Granted, I've only seen him in Underworld, but he was god-awful in that thing.
