Ser Scot A Ellison
There is a "World Festival of Beer" in Columbia SC on 1/24/08. Anyone want to come to Columbia find a meeting spot and go sample world beers for a day? Here's more info on the Festival: http://www.allaboutbeer.com/wbfcolumbia/
Ser Scot A Ellison
Well, either no one likes beer, or I need to bathe more frequently. :(

Eponine
Aw, I'm going to be in Columbia this weekend actually, but I'd come down again for the beer if it weren't so far away.
Ser Scot A Ellison
Molly, If you feel like joining me and my family for the Farmer's market at Gervis and Vine on Saturday morning give me a call. Fair warning, it starts at 7 AM. I suppose the SE BWBers are a tad spread out to congregate in Columbia for beer. :)
Eponine
I'll give you a call, I think that my friends were also planning on going to the Farmer's market anyway!

Eponine
Oops, disregard all that because I am stupid. The people I'm visiting are my boyfriend's friends and I was thinking they lived in Columbia, but they actually live in Charleston. I've been to SC a grand total of once before, and kind of had no idea where either city was.

It's an interesting experience.

Garic Snow
While I've been back to Columbia all of...once...since I moved, if we get a group together I'd be willing to roll up there on the 24th Scott. I'll try and keep track of the thread, but let me know if this pans out. Eponine: I do so love Charleston. Tons of stuff to do there if you haven't been before. Everything from the Carriage rides, (which, even for a Charlestonian, were very interesting when i finally did take one), descent museums, typical bars and clubs, to the Forts and tours Scott mentioned. I went down there a bit ago for a theater company performance at Ft. Moultrie. They did a bunch of Poe's poems / stories and were all set up in and around the Fort. If it wasn't monsooning out side and they didn't have to change their setup because of the rain it would have been better, but was still a great time. Don't know if you're actually staying downtown or in one of the many outlying areas that still refer to themselves as Charleston, but its a great city. You'll have fun, traffic aside :D

Alas, I'm currently about as far diagonally across the continent from Columbia, S.C. as possible. But one day I'll have to visit the civil war battlegrounds. So when this Canadian ends up in your neck of the woods, I might have to get in touch with you (seeing how you seem to know a thing or two about the civil war!). As a bonus, we could compare collections law between South Carolina and Alberta! :P
