Terrible reasoning of course, though ironically enough he's not far off. The ancient Hebrews were very liberal and open about female sexuality/sexual rights when conmpared to other cultures of the time. One of the few cultures of the time that stressed a woman's right to sexual pleasure as being equal or near equal to that of men.

I honestly feel that it's something you have to be raised with. If you just sort of look at it on occasion, it'll probably be difficult to follow because it requires you to have certain assumptions about the world and the way it works for any of it to make sense.

Who is raised with these assumptions? I know it seems like a silly question, but I grew up in South Carolina and I'm not sure I know anyone who thinks Jews own the media and create popular culture, although I certainly know people who rant about "the liberal media" ad nauseum. I don't know anyone who rants about the purity of the white race either, although I do know people who use the n-word. So: who are these people? Are we surrounded by them, and they're just more PC in real life? Or are they all living out in the boonies where most of us are unlikely to go?

To a certain extent, the Internet allows people to say things vocally and express non-mainstream opinions that they would probably suppress if they had to say them to people's faces. I'm not saying that you're surrounded by deep-cover super-racists or anything, but I think the Internet allows people to be more extreme and vitriolic than they would be in real-life.

Anonymity helps, as well as an "echo chamber" of like-minded people who repeat and reinforce your beliefs. It's the same thing as a political rally -- there's strength and courage in numbers. In fact, you can think of Stormfront -- and any political website, actually -- as being basically a political pep rally that NEVER ENDS.

EDIT: And no, I don't know that Terry Goodkind is a white supremacist. I hope he's not, not because I'm a fan of his books (Ha!) but because I don't think that one man should be allowed to hold that many ugly philosophies to himself. Seriously, 12 is enough.

Speaking of Goodkind; it's common for people like this to claim that famous/well-respected people were secretly Just Like Them to lend a veneer of authority to their beliefs. Choosing a relatively obscure (as far as mainstream goes) fantasy novelist seems like setting the bar a little low, but you should remember that these people are pretty much at subterranean levels of wit already.

Goodkind is definitely a xenophobe, but nothing I've seen so far (and I have studied the subject in some depth) suggests to me that he is in any way a white supremacist. I mean I wouldn't be surprised to find out that deep down he is a racist, but I've seen no hard evidence of it, and even if he were I doubt he would be of the hardcore white nationalist variety. He strikes me as the type of person who would be of the condescending variety; you know, the type that don't think they're racist but make disparaging remarks about black fathers then explain that they are not racist because they have a black friend.

If he is true to his ideas he's a philosophy supremacist in the sense that he believes Randian philosophy superior to all others but this philosophy can be adhered by all races and noble animals.
