Plus I think Dr Lokin and Vector have a proper bromance in the making.

Haven't really noticed, but they do have a lot on common. Vector has altered his DNA, Lokin dreams of doing the same to his (spoiler - he wants to become a rakghoul). I wonder what their babies would look like ...

I, too, am going to be working on Taris today. Put my time in on my essay this morning so I'm free to snipe republic as I choose. Haven't met Dr. Lokin yet but he sounds like a swell guy.

Also, what's up with the hate for Balmorra? I actually liked that one.

Oh nice, did you get the Vector romance dialogue yet? I got it all at once in one big lump post Act 1/ early Act 2 around the Nar Shaddah bit, and despite being such a serene space hippie, he really got to the point quickly. I loved how my agent went "Vector! That is not very subtle, is it!?" while he just kept on smiling in his quirky fashion.

Once I ran around on Taris, I got the "Vector would like to speak with you in private" but then it disappeared and once I got to my ship, it was gone" Curses! Vector what did I do to make you dis me like that??

Regarding Balmorra, I found the quest areas confusing and the running was just murder. :(

I think you just inspired some crazy ass fanfic writer somewhere.

Yeah, I got that dialogue dump too. I was super happy when he got right to the point as well. Now I have to wait until he wants to talk to me again! Grrr...

I'm actually having a hard time on Taris. There doesn't really seem to be a central quest hub area so I'm running around with 1 or 2 quests I can do without a group at the most. Even more frustrating, is that the server seems to be crashing. I can't tell if it's my computer or if it's happening to everyone.

Are the Datacons actually worth it?

Also I know this is an EA game and a complicated plot is beyond them but I wish there had been an option to defect with Havoc squad. Yeah the Empire is "Evil" but considering the callousness of the bureaucracy and general incompetence of the vast majority of the Republic military I can't say I blame them.

Also if you are looking to break into this for the love of God go Imperial. The Republic population on most servers I've found makes group questing very difficult.

I dunno, I have a baby smuggler on an EU server and people have been really good so far. Granted, it's only a low level alt, but I haven't noticed any griefing or anything.

Maybe key is more going to a server that is high pop. Both the servers I have chars on are heavily populated, which probably makes grouping etc, much easier. I don't know if there are stats for how many empire vs republic there are on the various servers yet.

I might just have got lucky tho, as you just never know with mmo players. In my experience, RP and PvE servers have slightly nicer people on average, but that's not always true either.

I am lvl 35 and have barely touched Taris yet. If you are having issues, go back and do the Tatooine or Alderaan (or even Nar Shaddah) bonus series. I did both Tatooine and most of Alderaan bonus series for loads of commendations and upgraded gear for both Vector and Kaliyo. It's much easier to blast through stuff when your companion is wearing modded orange gear you can get for commendation, I found. Have a peek at the Imperial Fleet commendation vendors if you can't decide. The different planets have slightly different bits you can get. I had the worst time deciding and kept dithering for ages.

Specialty vendors sell with money only. Commendations vendors are different, they are found on fleet and on their respective planets. Look around and you'll see.

lol Vette just send me another gift in the mail, we've been married less than a day, that chick's needy! here's the text:

This ship's cramped. I keep trying to make some alone time, just you and me, but every time I ask, Broonmark growls at me and Jaesa gets that look in her eye.

So I started thinking honeymoon. You know--vacation in paradise? I contacted a travel agent, found a few hot spots:

Star Cluster Suites, Nar Shaddaa (comped meals, generous casino credit)

Cloudside Resorts, Makeb (remote, five stars, dramatic views)

Whitecap Spa, Manaan (seafood, kolto peels, underwater suite)

Think about it. A little vacation would do wonders for that Sith complexion.

Oh just received one from my other wife, Jaesa :D.

I'm still thinking about last time, when we were alone. I hunger to indulge my appetite once more. But first, I want to share a dream with you--so you, too, can share my anticipation.

In this dream, I'm a frail, helpless Padawan struggling to forge my first lightsaber. My foolish Jedi Master stands over me, unaware that a mighty Sith approaches.

You cut my Master down with your lightsaber. I turn, horrified but in awe of your incredible power. You command me to bow, and I obey.

I've been incredibly lax about upgrading the gear of my companions. As soon as I get off Taris I'm going to be doing some shopping on the Fleet. Thanks for the recommendations. I have lots of commendations and haven't been spending them because the equipment was pretty crap for my toon. Maybe this will help make Vector and Kaliyo a little less squishy. Also, I found a crapload of quests. Turns out you just have to go places you haven't been . . .

Wow, that's hilarious. I can only hope that Vector retains some form of manliness after he succumbs to my uniform-wearing feminine wiles.

This may or may not mean much to any of you,

But, having spent time on Tattooine, and now having played some League of Legends. I just want it to be known, Veigar is a Jawa.

Soooooo . . . I just did the Jedi Prisoner questline for the first time . . . no spoilers, but I had a huge KOTOR 1/2 geekgasm.

It's stuff like that flashpoint pair that keep me interested in the game. The two together almost form a 4-man raid of sorts.

I love the dichotonomy between the two as well. It's strange Bioware didn't add that you'd have to pick one of them. You'd think they'd notice eachother at some point, or maybe your Sith warrior is just a really smooth operator.

I never played KOTOR myself, but my husband has had quite a few of those. He was waxing lyrically yesterday about some crashed ship on Taris and got mightily offended when I didn't show proper respect.

That is another question. I know it says that I can trade in my various commendations at the specialty vendors but they are asking for money also.

What am I doing wrong?

The easiest way to find the Commendations vendors is to pop over to the Imperial Fleet (or Republic Fleet alternatively) and go to the Supply section, I believe. Once there, go to the outer part of the ring and then the planet commendations should come more or less in the order in which you did them, from left to right, facing outwards. For Empire, that means Dromund Kaas, Hutta etc are furthest to the left, while Nar Shaddah, Alderaan and Taris are middle-ish, while Belsavis and Corellia are furthest to the right. For Republic, swap Dromund Kaas with Ord Mantell and Coruscant instead.

Speaking of Republic, I had a little bit of time for my smuggler the other day as the husband person was busy elsewhere, and he would be emo if I levelled too far ahead. Coruscant is really pretty, but at the same time, the amount of running is almost the same as on Dromund Kaas. It just feels a bit less because it's a city and not a jungle.

The downside is I can't decide what crew skills to pick up. I have cybertech, scavenging and underworld trading on the Agent, and I feel I can't just do the same. Does anyone know is Armstech or Armormech are any good?

You're supposed to have to pick, but apparently it's bugged :P

I went Synthweaving on my Inq and found it not to be that great, you get lots of ways to upgrade. The stuff I could make was better, but the work involved to get that stuff was greater than just questing an running FP's for moddable gear. Maybe the armour making skills get better at higher levels.

On my powertech I went Biochem. Reusable healthpacks, reusable adrenals, an stims is great. Add to that you can make some pretty good implants amd I find it much better. Also most strong animals can be harvested and diplomacy gives you light/dark points.

Had great fun in the warzone with the 3 canons the other night. Just stood at the middle one and grappled stray rep's into a mosh pit of sith. If there was more than 2 I would just grapple the last one, an the others would usually just keep running.

Yes and this bug may cost Vette her ears. I fear she's not long for this world. Relaying the latest communique from Jaesa:

You're the most incredible, powerful, awe-inspiring Sith I've ever known. Naturally, I thought there was no way I alone could satisfy you.

That is why I planted a tracking device on you, to confirm my suspicions that I was one of many women in your life.

But forgive me, my lord. I was wrong. You remained true. I will never lose faith in you again. Please accept this gift as my tribute to your superiority.

Oddly enough, I feel slightly disappointed. I was looking forward to hunting down your other female companions. Punishing them would have been such fun.

About armormech and armstech, if you're planning to commit to a char, the best scenario is going armormech (or synthweaving for force users), crafting your rakata bracers and belt, preferably until you get a critical craft with augment slot, then dropping armormech and picking biochem for the epic stims, adrenals and medpac.

I'm pretty disappointed by the fact that if you're a male Sith Inquisitor and you're dark side alligned you don't really have romance options with any of you're companions.

I had read somewhere that it's possible to turn Ashara dark side somehow but I really don't see how that's possible when she hates dark side choices. Maybe I'm just doing something wrong. I guess I could just buy her a ton of companion gifts but that seems like cheating :P

But yeah, having the only romance option for a male Inquisitor be light side only seems like a bad call to me. But what do I know :P

Solmyr  That's just hilarious.

Re the Sith Inquisitor, I saw this video with a really huge bald sith inq male who was clerly dark side (the emo goth look) being all sweet and loving to Ashara and it was totally 0.o, but fun in a totally odd, wrongheaded fashion.

Sith mosh pit is fabulous terminology. I vote it becomes industry standard!
