Silver Spearwife
Oh sweet winter child, you know nothing of heat, heat is when you can't sleep all night because it's too hot, heat is when you have to stay home from 11 am to 21 pm because the sun is too intense, heat is when you start sweating after five minutes in your balcony, heat is when you need sun lotion to be able to go out for more than an hour, heat is when you sweat no matter where you are or how good your air conditioning is.That is heat sweet winter childHeat is when you need to fly thirteen thousand feet in the sky just to feel a cool breeze :laugh:But we are fortunate indeed. The stories I hear of cities in midsummer in the days before air conditioning - when the stagnant, crowded streets were more bearable than your own bedroom, when air hung still and the what little you could see of the sky through the tall buildings was as bright and untainted a blue as you've ever seen. Dark Night Full of Ninjas
The heat, the heat has beat on us for quite a bit of timeAnd now the heavens boom and the skies begin to cryTheir tears fall upon the earth in a pouring rainWill they temper the boiling heat, or will it beat on us again? Howling Mad
My first wholesome poem everRed Wedding - Edmure's POVMy King and my Uncle say"For your mistakes you must pay. It's arranged, marry Roslin Frey,Lord Walder must now have his way. "My opinion, they did not seekWas my bride fair and sleek?Or homely and lacking teeth?I didn't know, still they made me goTime was not for me to be weak.On arrival, I'd never believe!Roslyn was comely, what a relief! And yet she wept, I didn't know whyFor now I'd love her 'til the day I died. The wedding took place, the feast proceededI felt now happy, got all that I neededThose awful songs? That poorly meal?Didn't care much, did my part of the deal.It was time for the bedding, how I longed for itNaked in the chamber, with all candles litRoslyn was there, and oh, what a sight!Drowned in happiness! Yet, oblivious, and blind....When all was done, I got my wishA lovely wife, and no floppy fish! But soon I found out 'twas nothing but liesBeneath this chamber, my King, Robb, dies.Despite the salt and the bread,Thousands perished that night,No offense goes past the FreysNot even under Guest Right. And now they hold me captive,A hostage by seed and by chains,No king, no sister, no army,Nothing else remains...And my most acclaimed one, IIRC:The Freys - Slay our Guest! (to Beauty and the Beast's"Be Our Guest")Walder Frey:My lords, King in the North, it is with deepest prideand mayhaps pleasure that we welcome you tonight! And now we invite you to relax, let's put down your swordas all Freys in the room proudly presents - you betrayal! The Freys:Slay our guest! Slay our guest!Put our treason to the test!Tie your direwolf outside, my lordAnd we will provide the rest!Soup du jour - hot king's blood! Why, you slighted us to mud!Try the vengeanceIt's amazingDon't believe us? Ask Lord Tywin! We can undo what we sworeAfter all, m'lord, this is war!And we're tired of being less than second best!Go on, take salt and breadSoon you'll all be worse than deadSlay our GuestSlay our GuestSlay our Guest!!!First some arrowsThen a stabA greatsword right through your heartAll your army burns outsideYou should have never changed your bride!Cat's aloneAnd she's scaredBut the butchery's all preparedNo Frey's gloomy or complainingWhile the singers are entertaining! We know it's time when we hearGood ol' Rains of Castamere! The Red Wedding's going forthThat is no jest!Come on, Freys, lift your glassWe won't let this slight passLet's slay our guest! If you're stressedEternal sleep's what we suggest!Slay our guestSlay our guestSlay our guest!Walder Frey:Life is so frustratingFor a vassal always servingWe need someone who puts us on higher statusAh, back in the days you thought we're usefulSuddenly all your promises are goneSo many years I've been ignoredBeing mocked by other lordsI need alliances, a chance to marry off my prole! One day you come with your King's wordYou seemed quite right on trackAnd then you stab us in the back!Black Walder:He's a guest! He's a guest! And his uncle we'll arrest!Freys are ready, so is RooseCold revenge on its best!I faintly hear Catelyn's pleaIt's such a lovely sound to me!While the bards are badly playingI'll be stabbing, I'll be killing!Outside's chaos, smokin' hotSeven Hells, oh what a plot!Keep on going! We want Lord Tywin impressed! We've got a lot to do!And murder Greywind, tooLet's slay our guest!Slay our guest!Slay our guest!Slay our guest! The Freys:Slay our guest! Slay our guest!Anything King Joff requestsIt's been years since we've got some respectAnd we're obsessedWith your folly, with your slightWe'll even break the damned Guest RightWhile the bedding is still goingA true bloodbath will be flowingLord by lord, one by one'Til Walder shouts "They've all been done!"Then we'll sew your wolf's head in your still-warm bodyTonight we'll end your causeAnd we'll break all the lawsTo slay our guest!Slay our guest!Slay our guest!Gods, let's slay our guest! All Men Must Rhyme
I cannot seem to write at all,The words just will not come,I seem to have simply struck a wall,My mind simply struck dumb.Instead of poems of ice and fire,I'll write for you instead,Of things which you may not admire; The crap inside my head.I have a hole in my right sock,Just thought you'd like to know,The big toe is free to run amock,But there are four toes still to go.I woke up with a burn today,From my hot water bottle,How it happened, I couldn't say,But I had the urge to throttle. My cat is doing something strange,Exploring my wardrobe,Climbing everything in range,In search for things to probe.I'm feeling pretty hungry, too,But I'm too lazy to cook,I have crackers to see me through,If not, we'll have a look.So that is how my day has been,Hopefully this clears my head,So I can rhyme about a better scene,Of ice and fire instead. Silver Spearwife
Soooo, I tried something a little new. Don't laugh at me ><. I wrote a little tune for the words. I royally fucked up on the third verse, but this was the fourteenth take, so I don't care. This thingy. This is Arya's lullaby, by the way.Where do you belong, child?Where is your home?Where do you belong, dear?Where will you go?Where is your family?Who's with you now?Nothing is rightYou're all aloneAll aloneThere's nothing leftJust a faceless heartIt's only emptyThere's no one homeNo one homeWhere do you belong, child?Where is your home?Where do you belong, dear?Where will you go?Where have you gone?
