Ode to the Sand Snakes

Black silouhettes against the sun

They ride, they dance, they bleed, they run

On whispers thin and shadows veiled

They slink and scurry, mix and meld

Woe be to you who dare defy

The ladies who were fathered by

A snake as long as truth is true

And deadly as his aim is true.

I know it's not great, but this is the finished, non joke version:

Reek reek it rhymes with sneak

the rat that I was eating made a squeak

Lord Ramsay is now coming down to torture me

all I want to do now is flee.

Lord Ramsay is now at the door

I am now hiding on the floor

when Lord Ramsay enters I dare not misspeak

Reek reek it rhymes with weak

Lord Ramsay has not come down in a while

Something must have happened that was rather vile.

Lord Ramsay has quite a wrothful streak

Reek reek it rhymes with freak

I hear Lord Ramsay shut the door and take out his flaying knife

He collects my skin and will want to take off a slice

I dare not look up and take a peak

Reek reek it rhymes with meek

Grumkins and Snarks cannot be found

where terror reigns.

Come them across beyond the Wall,

where the Free Folk stay.

Beyond the Wall, there are no thralls,

There are no bonds and chains.

There is a glamour of sense of humor,

And charm of Common Sense.

And that is why Grumkins and Snarks

Chose severe resignation;

They loathe to bow before the guards

With chronic constipation.

I like Timebean's ode to the Sand Snakes (and anything that has to do with Oberyn ;) ) and all the love for grumkin! Crackpot theory: Gingerly Grumkin is/will be Azor Ahai Reborn. Yet my hunger is not sated. MOAR RHYMES!

A boy climbs up high,

higher than crows fly, except

the one with Three Eyes.

Very nice indeed, Timebean.

Your new avatar is very nice indeed too, your Birdieness!

<snip a very pretty rhyme>

I fully support that theory.

Oh, my sweet summer child, what do you know of fear? Fear is for the winter ... Old Nan's story made rhyme to a mellow tune.

The fallen snow lay across the land.

The fallen show all white and cold.

I see you're scared, my summer child,

your summer face has gone all pale.

Since the winter came the days were gone

and soon there came the pale white things.

But the men missed heat most of all, my sweet child.

When fallen snow covered the ground.

Since the Others came, the Night grows Long

and soon you'll see the spiders pale.

And the men froze in their huts ... and castles.

When winter snows are on the ground.

I see you so afraid, my summer child -

is this the tale you want to hear?

:smug:

Uh, this song just makes no do some stretching, we use it our dance school for that. :)

I wonder what you'd think of me

When you wake up, and see

My ugly form besides yours so fine

I know now you'll never be mine

I wonder what you'd say to me

If I told you, would you flee?

I never thought I'd feel this thing

Oh, the turmoil love does bring!

I wonder what you're doing now

In Kings Landing, do you scowl?

Does your sister make you glad?

Or are you free to be had?

I wonder if I'll do you wrong

If the bards will sing a song

Of our journey, would they lie?

Do you see what's in my eyes?

I wonder if I'll do you proud

If we survive, I'll scream out loud

I promised her, I promised you

But only to you can I be true.

All the knights of summer flee

From the gathering dark

The ladies no longer filled with glee

At the sight of Lady Stark

All the children cry in bed

Huddled from the chill

Winter is coming, m'lady said

Even if it's not your will

My children are all gone

The bastard's on the Wall

You'll never again see dawn

Winter comes for us all

It's a mortal dance they dance

On this day in the Dragon Pit

People fight to take a glance

As the opponents face and meet

"Have they told you who I am?"

Says the Viper walking proud

And the Mountain, "some dead man"

While he walks, shouts aloud

"I am Oberyn of Dorne"

Stubbornly the snake goes on

"And I came here 'cause I mourn

My dead sister and her son"

Silent Gregor takes his shield

He's not going to speak back

His long greatsword he just wields

And gets ready to attack

And unasked three foul crimes

The Viper lays at Gregor's door

And repeats them many times

While they fight their private war

"You raped her", so goes the first line

Of the song that they dance to

Gregor grunts just like a swine

And he knows the prince speaks true

"You murdered her" comes right away

The Mountain strucks and always miss

The opponent graceful slides away

The Viper's just begun to hiss

"You killed her children" is the third

And the dance goes on for long

Gregor will not say a word

He will not join in the song

Suddenly the sun breaks out

"Shut up" screams the enormous knight

And for an instant there's no doubt

That Oberyn will win this fight

The whole land shakes when mountains fall

The viper's last bite's going to hurt

His sister's name aloud he calls

But then face first falls in the dirt

Then they wrestle on the floor

Then it's clear who will prevail

The Viper won't crawl anymore

In Gregor's arms he seems so frail

"Elia of Dorne" the answer comes

As if he remembered then

And meanwhile the dance becomes

Lethal for the Dornishman

"I have killed her screaming whelp"

He mutters as if he was proud

He doesn't know, with poison's help

He's been given to his shroud

"Then I raped her", he won't deny

The crimes of which he's been accused

While he kills the other guy

To doing cruelty he's gotten used

"Then I smashed her fucking head in"

Is the last the Viper heard

"Just like this" and one last sin

Before both leave this world

The Viper died right there and then

His head smashed by Clegane

Who'd killed already a thousand men

But the Mountain felt more pain

Then in the black cells he died

Dark blood flowing in his veins

And he shouted and he cried

...But what's been done with his remains?
