DornishHighlander
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000547/Obviously this all depends on what direction they choose to use for casting the Dornish.Molina has the acting chops, gravitas and quiet intensity to do a pretty quiet role where he'd be in a wheelchair most of the time. I can totally see him sitting in a solar saying "Vengeance. Justice. Fire and blood."

Ser Dermett Corbray
Probably not a realistic option for a number of reasons but how cool would it be if Mark Margolis played Doran?

DornishFroggy
Not a realistic choice yet the ideal casting for me is Omar Sharif : http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001725/Onother one (greek this time): Spiros Focás : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spiros_Foc%C3%A1shere's a picture: http://cdn.thebest.gr/media/images/frontNews/mzcznitbge4bfc2fb5f1f8a.jpgΗοwever Alexander Siddig is fine for me with make-up magic to age him a bit! http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0796502/

Khal Pono
I've long been a huge proponent of having Irrfan Khan from Slumdog Millionaire and In Treatment play Doran Martell. I even emailed Khan's agent about it. I think he is the right age and coloring. His role on In Treatment (the HBO connection helps, by the way) where he portrayed a tormented widower holding onto a number of dark secrets convinced me that he would be a knockout Doran Martell. He has some of the saddest eyes I've ever seen, which would be perfect for Doran Martell, upon whom the world weighs very heavily.

They need to age him up though! http://www.hotgurgaon.com/images/moviegossip/1343.jpg In this picture he has the pensive Doran look! :D
Arkash
Na, this guy doesnt do it for me... I dont picture the Martells as Indians. But Mediteranneans... and Ghassan Massoud is definitly the perfect choice, imo !

Exactly, no where in the text or in any interviews with GRRM does he describe them as being indian, more Mediterraneans (Eg, Spanish, Morrocan, Greek, Egyptian, Turkish) Ghassan Massoud or Alexander Siddig are my choices
Tony Soprano
Alfred Molina is probably on the top of my list of actors who I want to be cast as Doran. He's certainly got the acting cred to pull off a role such as that.Probably not a realistic option for a number of reasons but how cool would it be if Mark Margolis played Doran?Tio? I can totally see Margolis ringing a bell to summon Hotah.
Ser Areo Mace
Not a realistic choice yet the ideal casting for me is Omar Sharif : http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001725/Yes! He is who I kept picturing when I was reading. I think he is the best actor for the role if age wasn't a factor.Alfred Molina and John Rhys-Davies are my top two choices for Doran. RhaenysBee
I think Omar Sharif is too old for Doran, while Ghassan Masshoud is Arabian. Doran Martell is not Arabian... or Indian. I can imagine Alexander Sidding or Erick Avari as Doran. As for Rufus Sewell... the only role I would find his appearance tolerable on the show is Ramsay. That man just gives me the creeps... Nezzer
Alexander Siddig is way too young for Doran IMHO. He's more like Oberyn to me. I've always pictured Doran as a grandpa, old, with white hair and all.
