[TV Spoilers] 'Walk of Punishment' - Promo Thread

I doubt that Tyrion is the one having the sex in the scene, he's pretty damn faithful to Shae. I would think it's a visit to the brothel where he has a conversation with LF (or maybe Varys) and there's some random whores having sex with random guys (or each other) in the background. But again, the point of the scene will be the conversation that Tyrion has with whoever he's talking with, not the sex.

ETA: Unless, maybe its being added so that Shae will find out and be enraged--then, later, Tyrion-Sansa, further enraging Shae--all leading to her testimony vs. Tyrion down the line?

I think the brothel scene references Pod losing his virginity, as speculated. As for Tyrion, I think there will be a moment similar to in ACOK when a prostitute invites Tyrion to partake and he has no interest (realizing that Shae is the only one he wants). Doesn't mean that Shae won't hit the roof when she finds out he was at a brothel, but I think my scenario is more likely.

The sex scene is there as a way to keep the neanderthals watching the show who like it but never understand the stories. They watch for the big moments and boobs. D&D cater to this segment of the audience constantly. It does absolutely nothing for the story.

I hardly think people watch shows like this specifically for boobs since it would be much easier to get your fix with the multiple avenues available to all to watch porn.

It's HBO, that's what they do. I never heard this kind of pissing and moaning when the Sopranos had scenes take place at the Bada Bing just so we could have naked strippers writhing on poles in the background of the scene. It really didn't do anything for the story either but I didn't have to hear fans of the show get their panties in a bunch constantly about it.

They cater to it constantly, really? Can you please point out one instance from each episode? Otherwise I wouldn't call it constantly. People can appreciate the sex/nudity and the storyline. I wouldn't generalize it by saying the people who do are "neanderthals" and "never" understand the story. Calm down.

People need to realize that the nudity is there, the sex is there, it's fine. D&D don't put it in for 0 reason every time. It helps the plot more often than it doesn't.

D&D and GoT viewers, like every other human being in this century, know that porn is available online for free. I can't imagine a single person who would watch Game of Thrones as their go-to fap material.

Stannis is not a Borg or Vulcan. He is quite capable of emotion (anger etc.) in the books. If anything; they've toned it down on the show. He has been lost to despair after Blackwater (and I would argue suffering from PTSD given Dillane's performance). He is broken and literally clinging to one of his advisors--that has been set up from the beginning as his lover. He clearly derives some level of emotional support.

No point debating show vs.book as I see two of them as different canons. However, I failt to see how it is out of character for the show.

I agree!

yes , I said it too . I said he didn't know about SB in Renly assassination but he knew in penrose assassination.

but "make me another son" is stupid .

he probably slept with Mel to make shadow baby but it doesn't mean he is in love with her. flirting is out of character for Stannis he doesn't do that. (I'm not saying flirting is bad or good , I am saying Stannis isn't passionate)

Stannis sleeps with Mel at Castle Black. In a Mel chapter in a DwD she reflects on how little use her bed has gotten since Stannis marched south. So they sleep together even when not making shadow babies.

Stannis, Mel, Shadow babies..............ew. Plez, not again. :ack:

Not ready for all this with Theon this early in the series, though I guess it makes sense for them to do it like this for the TV series. :ohwell:

Looking forward to Riverrun and the Blackfish.

Can't wait to see more of the BWB and to see Sandor and Beric (looks like they'll have their fight this episode), and more Arya. :wideeyed:

More of Brienne and Jaime (yea!) but am already hurting for the loss of Jaime's hand. :ohwell:

Nonsense. Sex is a part of life. It's a part of the book. Therefore - it's a part of the SHOW. There's also a lot of violence in the show - is that there to cater to "the neanderthals" as well?

Sex and violence would be integral parts of life in a medieval society at war. Or at peace. Shit, sex is an integral part of ANY society - at any time. and they were both active parts of the books.
