Sunspear to be re-labelled as "Dorne" in the opening credits map?

It is likely labeled because both the Water Gardens and Sunspear feature in the credits, and it would be hard to read two labels in such a short time. Plus one would have to be at a different angle.

Sure they could have only written Sunspear, but then that neglects the Water Gardens, (unless they are in Sunspear?) so Dorne works.

From what I recall of the previous seasons, the introduction of an area or castle was along the lines of a character being introduced...Eddard Stark, Lord of Winterfell becomes Winterfell on map, Bank of Braavos puts Braavos on the map, etc. Prince of Dorne was mentioned/introduced to the story, hence Dorne being the place marker put on the map in the show opening scene. It makes sense to me.

Nobody complained in season 1 when they put "The Wall" instead of "Castle black"... It makes sense to use "Dorne" instead of two or three different locations ("Sunspear", "Water gardens", and "Somewhere in the desert")...

And I find quite boring that some people who openly despise the show keep reading the show forum and also keep commenting in here... You don't like the show, okay, we've understood, no need to invade every thread with the same boring comments...

A lot of people complained, actuallt.

I didn't know the board only allowed positive criticism of the show (and books). A lot of people read the books and keep commenting on the things they didn't like. Besides, no one here says "omg, I hate the show because it sucks!". The reasons many have to be displeased with the show and D&D's decisions are actually valid and understandable enough to make a good debate about it. It's not like we don't even watch the show and criticise it out of thin air.

With that being said, I maintain my comment. Yes, they have used "Dorne" instead of "Sunspear", but that's quite a minor change compared with how they have treated Dorne in this season. If they had done a better adaptation of Ellaria and the Sand Snakes, I could give it a pass.

If you mean the show, then yeah, I completely agree.

Jaime in Dorne and no Arianne, but people are upset about the credits? Who the ?!%& cares??? Most people probably think the Lannisters come from the "city" of Casterly Rock and it doesn't diminish the value of the show at all. This doesn't matter.

And The Water Gardens are not in Sunspear. It is its own palace The Martells chill in and throw outrageous orgies.

The second paragraph kinda negates the first. You haven't watched the show yet, you don't actually know how they're really adapting them besides incredibly broad strokes, so how exactly is that not criticizing out of thin air?

Love your sig, sj4iy....may all of us incorporate a little of the late great Terry Pratchett into our lives and words for at least one month in his honour.

As for those who watch the show and intensely dislike it...let them gripe. It's their money they are wasting, not ours.

I for one love the show, and most I know do as well. Out of the 10 million people who watch the show, about 15% hate it, yet keep watching and giving HBO their money, ensuring another season. In the end, money is money. Money makes the show go on.

Peace. We are all fans here on this site.

I would hazard a guess that many of those who constantly complain about the show do not actually pay for it.

Wow, the reddit page has taken this news in a far more negative light than people have here. For some reason, I feel that this board has become a lot less hostile towards the show in the past few months (though that might always be the case pre-season).
