total1402
I actually can't remember if she did this in ASOS bookwise. Seems oddly late to do it and you did sort of forget about them in the series. Or was it an ommision they made in CoK series due to the time limitations. ps insanely cute when she met them again. Fightbringer
she did it at the begininng of aCoK, but they didnt do it this season, for a number of reasons, most likely because rhaegal is named after rhaegar and no tv show only viewers would know who he is, aSoS is when Dany focuses a lot on rhaegar, so next season or the one after would be the best time to do it if they ever do
Crown
Doesn't really make sense that she hasn't named them yet, in my opinion.
Arkash
I sure hope she'll do so... Maybe Arstan will talk to her about Rhaegar in first or second episode, and after that, she'll decide to name her dragons...at last !
DaveSumm
I have no way of checking, and I've scoured the net to no avail, but I could have sworn when she first demonstrates 'Dracarys', she says "Drogon; Dracarys." I think she has named them, but as somebody said the audience won't know who Rhaegar is so they didn't make a big deal of it.

I think she has named them, but as somebody said the audience won't know who Rhaegar is so they didn't make a big deal of it.Nope. She just says 'Dracarys..'.Also, the Rhaegar/Rhaegal point is moot because they had no problem with naming her baby Rhaego in S1.

DragonAge93
I don't think they need to explain Rhaegar for Dany to name her dragons. That's like saying they needed to explain Eddard's name to name him that. She can easily just name them without any exposition whatsoever for the choice of their names. FirelordSylar22
Didn't she say the name of one of them during her "fight" with the warlock dude? Basically commanding it to burn that fucker down.

It was discussed last season, a little, but more people have not made a thing about it, don't know why.It seems an oversight on D&D part, why we don't fully see all three together , for just a moment, before episode 10 was always odd to me, could not have been that expensive for the CGI.Of course Danny would have known all about Rhaegar, we find out little about Viserys and Daenerys' minders when they were young at Braavos, but presumably they were Valyrian (or even Targaryen). Since Dany speaks Valyrian (probably was her puppy tongue) she must have been taught by them and Viserys (9 years older than Dany) Valyrian and Targaryen history. It could have been explained in the briefest of dialog in one episode. After all Arya gives the most tiny sketch about Rhaenys and Visenya and their dragons (which Viserys had already mentioned in season 1)and I am sure most intelligent viewers could put two and two together.HBO could do a favor and maybe a nice teaser for the series is they did a 'back story' 30 min feature , some of this appears on the DVDs. Battle of the Blackwater + Wildfire explosion + Dracarys + Direwolves + White Walkers at the Fist of the First Men = no money for unnecessary shots of dragons. We saw all the dragons together many times in episode 10, when they were needed to show Dany's character growth. Khal Porno
She should name them Eenie, Meanie, and Miny on the show.
Liar
They shouldn't have had any problem naming them. Drogo and Viserys are familiar, and in S1 Robert mentions Rhaegar Targaryen, and she names her baby Rhaego. No excuse really to delay the names. Brandon Martell
There was a lot of mentioning Rhaegar in season 1. He was mentioned since the first episode, and throughout the series. "Your brother Rhaegar was the last dragon." I think people will remember Dany has a dead elder brother other than Viserys. They don't have to tell any backstory on him, just say "I named him over my dead brother Rhaegar."
Matt O'Sevens
Nope. She just says 'Dracarys..'.Also, the Rhaegar/Rhaegal point is moot because they had no problem with naming her baby Rhaego in S1.Yep, they named the baby Rhaego, so why not let the tv audience know the dragon's names? I really don't get it. At some point, they have to do it. I hope they aren't thinking about leaving the names out, that would be lame
