  1. My special edition of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth arrived at my office today. Got out my Sephiroth statute... that glorious Son of a Bitch is too tall to stand on the bookshelves in my office. So I cleared off the shelf under my TV and moved my Cloud figure (from the Remake special edition) off the shelf to sit across from him. He's very much "Fallen Angel" looking, so I have it sort of hidden by the bookshelf as you come in, but he's easily visible from my desk.
  2. Yeah... for all his heroics, Reed threw the ball away leading to a three on the other end. Then Kentucky went up three with 16 seconds left; queue the great debate on if you just play it out on defense or foul... Miss State hits a terribly off balance three to tie it with 8 seconds. Setting the stage for Reed's epic finish. Should have been well in the bag, but Miss St just wouldn't go away.
  3. Got my ticket for Saturday evening.

  5. Yeah, there were a handful of guys in our guild that were from the Columbus area. One weekend, we were meeting a friend of mine from Youngstown and the night before he got in town we met up with the Night Elf warrior twins and a gnome rogue. Also met up with another group in Nashville a couple months later. There are several old guildmates that I still have on Facebook that I keep at least casually in touch with.
  6. Oh he was their main paladin. Did a lot of PvP. He charged in for the video... it was totally a set up. Now whether everyone in the group that night was in on it or not, I don't know. He wound up having to play on an alt for a long time though because he would get bombarded with messages from people creating characters on the server just to see if he was on.
  7. I played on Laughing Skull. We had a good raiding guild, but not on the level of Deus Vox or Pals 4 Life. Our hunter group leader took an invite to P4L and I used to tag along sometimes on the PvP groups with Leeroy and the others. But yes... the biggest high I ever had in gaming was the night we took down Nefarion for the first time. I was the back up tank. The main tank died and I picked up the aggro. We had a dwarf priest giving me fear ward for most of the fight (the dragon would stomp, the screen would shake, and everyone would get feared. If the main tank got feared, the dragon turned and breathed firey death on all the squishy cloth wearers off to the side.) Our priest died somehow with about 12% to go and I had to stance dance (switch stances to berserker where you take more damage, pop an ability that breaks fear, and then switch back to defensive stance before you get whacked) that entire ending sequence. Knowing that if I messed up once, all 40 of us were going to die... It was intense. Count me in as someone who absolutely sacrificed a marriage on the altar of WoW. (Ironically... she played and raided too!) There's something about not letting down 39 other people knowing that if you don't log in, the raid might not go.
  8. I worry that the Disney board meeting would go like this: Script Writer: We have this idea for a Star Wars movie. We really think we've got something here, think of it like Kill Bill meets Frozen. Suit 1: So we set the entire story on Hoth? Suit 2: Wait... so we don't go to the desert planet that Luke is from? Nanu Nanu or whatever its called? Don't we always have to go there? Script Writer: Hoth? Tattooine? Wait... that's not what I really... Suit 3: Wait... I have a great idea... remember that planet that looked like snow but was really salt? It was kind of like a desert... but looked like Hoth! Big Suit: Genius. I like it. We'll do Kill Bob but on the salty ice desert. Good work people.
  9. "Frozen meets Kill Bill" ??? How does that even work????
  10. I had no idea I needed this in my life…
  11. In other news… does anyone believe Drake Maye is going to be as good as the talking heads are talking about? Convince me he’s not the next Mitch Trubisky. Edit: Full disclosure, I’m still bitter his brother knocked Fox/Bam/Monk out in the Elite 8 in 2017.
  12. So we essentially agree in concept. Historically, there’s a higher “hit” rate on highly drafted linemen than QBs. So build those trenches that you really need to win in the Windy City. Then go draft a guy or trade for a Kirk Cousins type. Let’s not forget, the Sex Cannon took the Bears to the Super Bowl.
  13. Heck, I’m still of the opinion that they should trade Fields and the top overall pick for a boatload of first and second rounders for the next two years and load up on offensive and defensive lines, then take a swing on a QB in the middle of the first round in a couple years.
  14. Just heard a crazy stat. UConn has not won on the road against a ranked team in over a decade.
  15. And naturally UConn gets killed by Creighton... because 2024.
  16. Interesting. I don’t know that I recall any real Justice League references in the original four games. Was Gotham Knights in the Arkham-verse too?
  17. I've never quite been able to figure that out. Is it in the Arkham-verse? Or is it just something else?
  18. Fire the coach. Beat the number two team in the country. Fairly standard stuff.
  19. Makes that scene in Last Dance when Michael is talking about wanting to defend Kobe to shut the rookie up seem like it was an entire other universe.
  20. I was in the grocery late one evening a month or so ago and Jamiroquai came on the in house speakers. I told my wife about it and she didn't know what I was talking about. I was very disappointed.
  21. Welp, that radar is definitely flawed then. Never made time to go see the Barbenheimer sensation last summer. So anyways, point stands for the first part.
  22. That’s the thing though… RDJ had no career to speak of when he signed on to Ironman. And what is he doing now that he isn’t Ironman? Does he have a career? I dunno. I don’t see him in things on my radar. Krasinski can almost pick any role he wants these days.
  23. Yeah, the college system where it always goes back and forth is a no brainer to play defense first. But this gets much more complicated. Shanahan truly believes that his offense will score a TD every time they have the ball. Given that philosophy, his decision to take the ball first makes more sense. And it almost worked. They had the Chiefs almost at a 4 and out. Then had them at 3rd and Long.
  24. I missed that part. I did catch Shanahan after the game say that part of the strategy for taking the ball first was the chance to possess the ball twice. The other part was that the defense was gassed after the last two minutes of regulation.
