Lost Melnibonean
It's been a while since I've seen one of these threads, and I was just listening to Metallica's Creeping Death, which always makes me think of poor Jon Connington. Your turn... ETA How about Black Sabbath's A Bit of Finger? I swear Motorhead wrote In the Year of the Wolf for Arya. Led Zeppelin's The Immigrant Song makes me think of the Ironmen. How about Iron Maiden's Invaders for Lord Humfrey Hewett? How about Stealin' by Uriah Heep for Dareon? King Edd of House Tollet said: I just realized that Burn from Deep Purple describes almost perfectly Melisandre. Any bluegrass fans? How about Pretty Polly (my favorite version is by Ralph Stanley and Patty Loveless) for Chett? How about UFO's Love to Love for Young Griff and Jon? Well, just the colors anyway... Misty green and blue... How 'bout a couple a Judas Priest songs... Screaming for Vengeance for Rickard Karstark and Rapid Fire for Gregor Clegane? Had a Dad by Jane's Addiction always makes me think of Robert Baratheon. The only song for Daenerys is Meu limão, Meu limoeiro by José Carlos Burle, better known in the U.S. as Lemon Tree, sung by various artists, notably Peter, Paul and Mary. How about The Mob Rules by Black Sabbath for Rhaenyra? I Know a Little by Lynard Skynard for Jon in the cave with Ygritte when he gave her the lord's kiss. Oo-De-Lally, Roger Miller for Tom O'Sevens. Iron Maiden by Iron Maiden for Ramsey. Kill the King by Rainbow for Aerys. Steeler by Judas Priest for Wyman Manderly. War Pigs by Black Sabbath for the Five Kings, or better yet, for Sept on Maribald. Light My Fire by The Doors for Orell's eagle. Breadfan by Budgie for Hot Pie. Old Man by Neil Young is for Tyrion, innit, Aunt Genna? How about Angry Eyes by Loggins and Messina for Lord Rykker? Wheels of Confusion by Black Sabbath for Sansa. Ser Sentulus
Sia's "Alive" reminds me a bit of Dany. "I was born in a thunderstorm I grew up overnight I played alone I'm playing on my own I survived Hey I wanted everything I never had Like the love that comes with light I wore envy and I hated that But I survived I had a one-way ticket to a place where all the demons go Where the wind don't change And nothing in the ground can ever grow No hope, just lies And you're taught to cry into your pillow But I survived I'm still breathing [4x] I'm alive [4x] I found solace in the strangest place Way in the back of my mind I saw my life in a stranger's face And it was mine I had a one-way ticket to a place where all the demons go Where the wind don't change And nothing in the ground can ever grow No hope, just lies And you're taught to cry into your pillow But I survived I'm still breathing [4x] I'm alive [4x] You took it all, but I'm still breathing [8x] I have made every single mistake That you could ever possibly make I took and I took and I took what you gave But you never noticed that I was in pain I knew what I wanted; I went out and got it Did all the things that you said that I wouldn't I told you that I would never be forgotten And all in spite of you And I'm still breathing I'm still breathing I'm still breathing I'm still breathing I'm alive (You took it out, but I'm still breathing) (You took it out, but I'm still breathing) I'm alive (You took it out, but I'm still breathing) (You took it out, but I'm still breathing) I'm alive (You took it out, but I'm still breathing) (You took it out, but I'm still breathing) I'm alive"

dsug
Money Power Glory by Lana Del Rey has very Cersei vibes to me. Indifference to morality and religion, worshipping wealth and power above all else. Drug/alcohol induced haze.

daccu65
Well, for me it's the obvious, Pink Floyd's "Another Brick in the Wall" whenever I'm reading about new recruits taking their oaths to the Night's Watch. I always picture Edd yelling "Ye can't have any pudding 'till ye finish yer meat!" ACDC's "Money Talks" when reading about Tywin Lannister. Often, when reading about Barristan Selmy, I swear I hear "Protectors of the Earth" by Two Steps from Hell.

I was thinking about Dio's Holy Diver for Aeron Greyjoy, but upon checking the lyrics it seems to apply to Patchface more.

I think Dio's Holy Diver sounds perfect for Aeron. I realize Ironmen don't come from the land of the ice and snow (I can't even say that in head without singing it), but that song was written for Viking conquerors. Isobel Harper
Isobel by Bjork reminds me of Arya. In a forest pitch dark, glowed the tiniest spark. It grew into a flame, like me, like me. My name Isobel, married to myself. My love Isobel, living by herself. The main character of the song (whomever she is) is so full of spunk and independence. Hounds of Love kinda reminds me of Sansan fans. (Does this count?) Funeral for My Future Children by Anna von Hausswolff reminds me of Cersei. I'll bury all my children, I'll carry them to death. Morbid, but a very beautiful song. Wolf by First Aid Kit reminds me of Stoneheart, Arya, and Sansa. Wolf mother, where ya been? You look so worn and so thin. Wolf mother at the door, you don't smile anymore. Three Ravens, a folk song, reminds me of House Corbray's sigil, and I wonder if GRRM somehow got inspiration from the song for the sigil. (The version of Three Ravens that I linked is a somewhat modern interpretation of the song. Terrific!)

King Edd of House Tollet
I just realized that Burn from Deep Purple describes almost perfectly Melisandre The sky is red, I don't understand Past midnight I still see the landPeople are sayin' the woman is damned She makes you burn with a wave of her hand The city's a blaze, the town's on fireThe woman's flames are reaching higher We were fools, we called her liar All I hear is, "burn!" I didn't believe she was devil's spermShe said, curse you all, you'll never learn When I leave there's no return The people laughed till she said, burn Warning came, no one cared Earth was shakin', we stood and stared When it came no one was spared Still I hear, "burn!"
