What happens to all these fire god worshippers after the 'big fight'?

7 posts in this topic

A potential big showdown may or may not happen with a certain Azor Ahai--Light Bringer that was prophesied thousands of years ago. If it does goes down the way they believe it will OR does not.THEN WHAT? Will these people automatically stop trying to burn everything and everyone down to the ground? Do they go back to 'normal' activities now that their PPV event is over or do they continue on? Do they self indulge in the mentality of I-told-you-so and go even extremer?

The real fight is the clean up.

Why wouldn't the believers keep believing? Particularly since their prophesies were proved correct? And if the Azor Ahai thing didn't come to pass as foretold, well when have facts ever had any influence at all upon religious belief? That's why we call them "beliefs."

The "burning everything down" that you mention is just their standard worship technique. Keep the nightfires and dayfires burning eternally, in worship of Rh'llor. Destroy all foreign gods. Perform sacrifices to assure Rh'llor's blessings. Same old, same old.

AA is a legend  and character archetype. We will not see AA reborn or a new lightbringer. We will see the follower of the red god rally to fight the others, but there aren't many red god followers in westeros

They will continue practicing the same religion. Why would they stop?

Bare in mind that some people want just to see some false idols burning and people being "cleaned" by fire from their sins and go to a better place, so I don't think they care if the story checks or not.

Well just because the second Long Night is prevented doesn't mean it's resolved forever. It may happen again, and Azor Ahai will be needed once more. Some may not believe it happened at all and continue believing that Azor Ahai has not come again yet. Kinda like how Jews don't think Jesus was THE messiah.

Well, it’s true. He wasn’t.
