  1. It would pay for about 5000 nurses salaries for a year. Doesn't seem quite so trivial when you use sensible maths. You can probably double that for his fucking new hat party.
  2. Main player list De Bruyne, Haaland, Kane, Trippier, Odegaard, Sako, Rashford. One of those players is not like the others - 2 good months does not a player of the season make. Personally i'd go De Bruyne > Haaland > Odegaard. Though the influence Trippier has had on Newcastle is immense. Also, when did we change from 6 on the shortlist?
  3. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-65636772 £162 million to bury her, how much for his coronation on top? Fucking disgraceful amount of money, they want that shit they should pay for it themselves. I agree with Frank Reynolds about funerals - That's not gonna be my future. I'm not gonna be buried in a grave. When I'm dead, just throw me in the trash.
  4. this has moved on from press intrusion to imaginary stalking now has it?
  5. this i very much agree with. Once you leave a public event you should be off limits (if you want to be) even if you built your whole career utilising the press. even the Kardashians, yak, deserve some peace.
  6. they have a security team, come on. Also, they weren't staying at home, they don't take the crown jewels with them when they go away for a weekend.
  7. yeah, nothing says secretive and discreet like driving round and round over and over.
  8. Of course it is, its easier. They get someone to drive them and someone to protect them, they don't have to make a single decision themselves and their house is secure as fuck when they get there (in all likelihood), they have nothing to fear but fear itself. Regardless of how shockingly they have been treated by the press and his family, they really don't help themselves at all. its not even like it was giving away their home address, just somewhere they are staying for a few days. Other famous (much more famous) people manage it just fine. This is in no way a defence of the press, i would fully support outlawing paparazzi full stop, with insane penalties. Even the most obnoxious figures should have the right to go about their private business without intrusion, even if they actively invite it in their public life.
  9. Yeah, this is my biggest issue, nobody was chasing them, they were being followed, and they had security with them. Its a gross intrusion and an inconvenience and must be fucking draining and emotionally triggering for him in particular, but they weren't in active danger (unless their driver was as bad as his mothers). They could have just went home and shut their doors instead of driving round and allowing other peoples lives to be put in danger as well. Their desire to keep their location where they were staying a secret should have been secondary to the safety of other road users and pedestrians (if accounts of the paparazzi's actions are to be believed). The press are about 90% to blame for this, and are frankly parasitic cunts, but if they want this shit to stop, they need to be proactive and do a much better job of not feeding the frenzy.
  10. young player nominations Isak, Botman, Saka, Martinelli, Odegaard, Mac Allister, Haaland, Caicedo Wonder who wins that?
  11. I agree re Arteta having the biggest achievement/improvement, i just don't see how 2nd in the league beats a treble (assuming it happens). TBF Newcastle are in with a reasonable shout of getting a points total that would be ECL qualifying in most of the past 10 years. Chelsea and Liverpool may have dropped off, but Man Utd and Arsenal have stepped up so its a bit of a wash. Think Ten Hag is a bit harshly left off, reasonable chance of 2 cups and 3rd in the league, also with a 10-15 point increase on previous season. Probably should have had the nomination over Emery/Silva (extra points for fucking owning Ronaldo).
  12. Newcastle boss Eddie Howe, Brighton’s Roberto de Zerbi, Arsenal’s Mikel Arteta, Man City’s Pep Guardiola, Fulham’s Marco Silva and Aston Villa’s Unai Emery have been nominated for Premier League Manager of the Year. Quite a lot of good candidates there with caveats right now. If Arteta had won league, he should have won it, if Pep wins the treble he should win it, if Newcastle or Brighton secure CL places their managers should be in with a shout. Silva and Emery both ran out of steam at the end of the year when it came to the crunch.
  13. One of those films that you probably need to see before it got hugely eulogized. Cult films are never as satisfactory when you have heard people banging on about them for years beforehand.
  14. should get the old plastic carpet out of storage for a huge home advantage.
  15. I have to say I find the idea of Luton v Coventry hugely appealing for the playoff final. Obviously whoever wins will go straight back down but both clubs have done amazing to get even this far when considering where they were a few years ago. Also helps that the 2 losing teams were Sunderland and Boro.
  16. Air really was a piece of fluff.
  17. I hate the press but come on wtf does 'near catastrophic' mean? Followed for 2 hours maybe, but not 'chased'. They really don't help themselves when they generally have right on their side.
  18. My wife did a degree in TV production, she works in TV production in a relatively high level role. She is adamant she could teach someone more in 3 months than she learned in 3 years at uni. She said she hasn't used a single thing she learnt and the only reason to do it is you struggle to get a low level job/for in the door without it, that's not a good reason for 50 grand debt. She has discussed if/when she starts her own company she will have paid interns for a year to avoid them getting saddled with debt for no reason.
  19. One of the weirdest things is how quickly some people, who were probably terrible at maths at school, can calculate check outs instantly as they miss what they were going for.
  20. If this had anything whatsoever to do with what is best for kids, conservatives wouldn't have enacted so many policies that disadvantage kids. Also what about non married parents? Fuck those kids of sinners?
