  1. You can get decent Mexican food (by UK standards, having never been to the U.S. Or Mexico I'm not going to compare) from food stalls and food festivals, I find. Restaurants, particularly chain restaurants, I doubt you'd get anything authentic its more "gets the job done, appeal to the masses with something vaguely spicey and throw some cheese on"
  2. very good. I'd forgotten how loooong TPM is (or feels, i guess - 2hrs 10 isn't so bad by todays standard...). But yeah, this definitely brought me back. Even watching as a kid and having ad breaks where I could do something else to stop me getting restless. A lot of the time I'd fast forward through Tatooine, watch the pod race, skip through Coruscant and then watch the Battle of Naboo. So much walking and talking and very little of it interesting. I di want to watch the Maul fight again now...
  3. Don't follow the Wicked promo if this bothers you
  4. I think it just lands behind him, I guess as some "portent" (probably staged) that whatever he's talking about is correct
  5. I don't know anything about this story but considering how badly Clone Emperor was received this sounds like a bad idea...
  6. I think thats where derivative v plagiarism comes in though, TLJ at least twisted this a bit by having Ren and Rey team up and the Emperor figure just immediately dying
  7. You should seriously weigh up how psychologically damaging a divorce would be to your children
  8. But the reasons for Luke's change from the OT are there. You might not find them convincing or find them poorly done but...the exact same can be said of Vader to Anakin. Also, surprised by the argument the ST does not have great scenes. I'd argue part of the problem is some of the film is just very tenuously connected cool scenes. I particularly like Finn and Rey v Kylo Ren, the Throne Room fight and Rey v Ren in the old Death Star, but there's quite a few that I find memorable. I've already said I enjoy TFA, and like TLJ more than most but even setting that aside I think there at least some scenes that hold up to the PT scenes that I enjoy, even if i don't like the films
  9. Sorry I'm not at all familiar with the voting and points systems but ads in Times Square? There are people in the U.S voting for Eurovision? I'm sure this is a basic question so I am sorry for asking
  10. Slipping "I think Zendaya sucks" into a thread that's about a film she isn't even in is big "look at me!" Energy. Anyway, not engaged much with the stuff teasing the film but based purely on how much I loved Mad Max: Fury Road I'll be going to see this
  11. who is everyone's favourite? I've been watching all night but the Pimm's was only £10 a litre so we bought 5 bottles and, well... I like Ireland the best, come fight me
  12. I thought there would be some kind of campaign rule about having to clearly show your party affiliation, that's interesting.
  13. yeah smash burgers are less "formed" I believe, and as FB says its gets more of a seared outside. Not tried one, also not sure if it worked with non-meat burgers but they certainly seem pretty popular. Its lovely weather outside today so I cooked this morning before it got too hot, in preparation for getting home tonight. Tom Yum soup. When I get home I'll cook some prawns and put together a little salad to go alongside
  14. Space Babies was fine as an intro episode I guess, moved quickly, low stakes, and a good set up of the chemistry between Doctor and Companion (I think Ncuti and Milly work really well together on that front) didn't love it but didn't hate it. Devil's Chord was much better though, loved Maestro as an OTT campy villain, Jinkx did a great job with the portrayal. And I think both episodes did a good job of teasing out the mystery around Ruby. We only have 8 episodes correct? So teasing it from the jump makes sense as long as it resolves by the end of the season, imo. Overall solid start, as a new Who watcher
  15. Oh, fun - double premiere and we get it same time as the U.S does (on iPlayer). Will report back
  16. I feel like HBHBHB was slept on as an album. Some brilliant stuff in there but its usually Lungs and Ceremonials that get all the attention. The long form video accompanying the album was pretty great too
  17. given the atrocities I have done with food, and the butchery of cuisines around the world Brits commit daily, I have no place gatekeeping anything, including skin on fish...
  18. you said no and they listened? What privilege. I remember many times where I'd ask for one thing and they'd tell me oh no you don't want/like that and give me another option. This carried on despite many complaints from mothership until she put me on packed lunch. Dessert was certainly the best part of school meals for me, but the custard was not good. "School cake" though (basically plain vanilla sponge with white or pink glacé icing and sprinkles. Chefs kiss.
  19. yeah I've fairly recently learned spam is a staple in other cuisines. I assure you you're cooking it much more inventively than my nanna was I believe its also popular in Hawaii?
  20. I've seen and tasted this before. Its not awful, but I don't think it adds anything that poaching in water doesn't. Where it makes some sense is where the poaching liquid is used in an accompanying sauce Interesting. Any fresh fish I buy from the supermarket has had skin on. I don't buy them often but I think even tuna steaks have the skin round the outside. I can't let this go. How are you cooking the fish? Does it not just fall apart?
  21. who cooks fish without the skin on? I don't think I've ever seen fish without the skin on at least one side
