Alysanne.Stark
After reading the sample chapter from TWoW, I'm kinda going crazy! What do you guys think this could mean for our favourite character to empathise and despise at the same time?
cassidyaj
Maybe he is kept around to help Rickon remember his name once Davis gets him back.
Comiskey23
I'm actually one of the few people who think he'll survive the entire story... "What is Dead May Never Die, But Rises Harder and Stronger" Theon has suffered so much and he's one of those characters who I think will have a redemption story just like Jamie. Flayer
If they use the weak ice beat the freys and Ramsay. I think it would be awesome if Theon is the one who swings the weapon on the ice to crack it and falls in and dies. But personally i don't think he will i think they will beat the Freys and take Winterfell and the Northman will want Theons head so Stannis will chop it off in front of the Winterfell heart Tree and right before the swing the sword Rickon will come riding in on Shaggydog to stop him. Cos if the manderly's turn on Bolton, stannis will hold Wyman captive i believe he seems pretty pissed off with Lord too fat and with Rickon there to prove that they didn't kill Davos and Theon didn't kill the boys If that makes sense sorry if it didn't But i do think Theon won't live through the series but i think he'll die protection a Stark most likely Rickon
SynthFG
Stannis wants to hack his head off, mostly to appease the northern contingent of his armyAsha wants to use him to challenge the kingsmoot, possibly placing him on the throne with her as hand and the real power, However Rob had serious plans too right before the RW Unless Bran 1) Forees a reason to keep him alive 2) Can get over what he did to winterfell 3) Can communicate this in such a way as to placate the northern soldiers and persuade Stannis Then I sense that Theon will be put out of his misery very early in the story
Hoid
He is sacrificed to both the Red God and the old ones and becomes tPtwP, song of ice and fire.
Ser Malthred Storm
He is sacrificed to both the Red God and the old ones and becomes tPtwP, song of ice and fire. Yes, behead him before the Weirwood and then burn the head; everyone is pleased!
memeka
I have a feeling Theon will have an important role next book.I am sure he will meet Rickon.
TeethGrinder
I highly doubt he's going to get burned. Far too obvious after the WOW Chapter.I can see him escaping with Asha when it's said and done and getting involved in the Greyjoy angle or maybe being the one to kill Ramsay. Either way I think he's got too much to give as a character to be killed off.
ManyFacedMember
His POV chapters are so good because he is the most realistic and most analytical POV we have.He just know everything about the north and holds some important information. His story will continue till the end of the series. The Drunkard
He seems fated to die, which I imagine means he won't. Dying at the crofters village would also make that little story about the invalidity of the kingsmoot moot pointless.
Forelver
I've always suspected he will die, but probably not til the final book. I think it will be some kind of sacrifice that will help or save people, possibly one of the Starks, and will help him atone a little for some of his previous mistakes. Sword of the Morgan
I don't think he'll just be killed. I think he has a role to play, but I'm not sure what. I don't think the blood sacrifice thing holds much water.
Poncio
What if, instead of a clue, Kinslayer is actually a foreshadowing? Turns the cloak again and kills some Greyjoy.
LordToo-Fat-to-Sit-a-Horse
heĀ“ll live: "no godless men may sit the seastone chair". theon actually means godly.
cassidyaj
Could Theon be the "beacon" to lure the Freys to the village over the ice? Stannis could use him to get the Freys to come rushing over the ice by putting him on the island...or maybe him along with the other ironborn. Hide everyone at the village and put them out on the island to lure the army out onto the ice and then it breaks.
EddardsHead
I think Theon will ultimately survive, or die sacrificing himself to save a Stark.
ImpinDornish
Dying to save a Stark is too "normal fantasy" for GRRM. As is him being the one to kill Ramsay. To be honest, I have no clue what will happen to Theon, but it won't be pretty.
INCBlackbird
"what is dead may never die but rises again harder and stronger" Theon will survive the series and after he's finished finding his true identity he will put it to use in the conclusion of the story. after which he will live a happy life, hopefully as the king who brought peace and prosperity to the iron islands by working together with the main landers and completely abandoning the old ways. the progressive Greyjoy King! that's my perfect ending though, that's what I hope will happen, but it seems way too happy for asoiaf so we shall see... I really hope he survives though! I can't handle my prince dying!
John Hulboy
Theon did some terrible things an has suffered enough he will keep his head and hopefully survive series great character even tho I hated him once .
