TrueOrFalse
I can't make up my mind fully about her. On the one hand she comes across as very cold and spiteful in some parts of her chapters which I found really frustrating to read, on the other hand I admire her for her fierce love for her family. I definitely think what happened to her at the Red Wedding was atrocious and I don't think the war is her fault as some people have said. What I want to know is, what do you think of Catelyn and why? I apologize in advance if threads exactly like this have been posted before and I missed them, I just feel Catelyn is a particularly interesting character to discuss. Bright Blue Eyes
Ouch, hot topic. Personally, I like Cat. Smart, resourceful, dedicated, the baddest badass in the entire series, admirable morals, but enough weaknesses to stay likeable.

Julia Martell
I find Catelyn more interesting the more I think about her. If Cersei is the poster child for internalized misogyny, Catelyn is the poster child for internalized patriarchy. The way she navigates through the system without actually challenging it is fascinating.
Headless Wolf
I love Cat. She's one of my favorite characters. I'm a little disappointed with her treatment of Jon, but she helped out my favorite character (Robb) so much and was the POV through which we saw him so her chapters were a lot of fun for me to read
TheLightning Lord
Can't wait to see more of Cat in Winds. "she don't speak. But she remembers."
hatbar
I love Cat, she is one of the most realistic characters in the series until her death. I found it hard to agree with some of her decisions, got frustrated when others would not listen to her counsel and sympathised with her over the loss of her family. I miss her and wish she had had a bit of a break at least somewhere in the series.
Mark Antony
Best character of ASOIAF. I tend to agree. Maybe not my favorite (though she's one of them) but I definitely think she's the best written pov
Trevelyan
I want to marry Catelyn and have children with her. But seriously, for me, Catelyn is the most realistic and one of the more complex characters in the series. I absolutely admire everything about her. Her strength, her intelligence, her pride, even her flaws. She's a truly amazing (and in my opinion underappreciated) character and I really love her very much. And, I know I should be used to it by now, but every single time somebody judges her unfairly or says something mean about her, my heart bleeds a little bit. I'm also completely fascinated with Lady Stoneheart and I can't wait to see more of her in future books.
Pikachu101
Best fricking character on the show! Who is used as a scapegoat by haters and suffers the brunt of this fandom's misogyny
Dolorous22
I really liked Cat but she (like every other character, I suppose) frustrates me. I think I'm one of the few who actually like that she's returned in the form of LS. Unfinished business and all that...She's a Wolf who would die protecting her pups. Her attitude towards Jon is shameful, the boy is more like Ned than anyone else in the book. I suppose I wish she could of seen that, just once. Otherwise, i find it difficult to criticize her, including the arrest of Tyrion. If only she could of returned to WF with him instead of delivering him to crazy Lysa. Things may of panned out differently.
Bittertea
She's a good character. A loving mother who's love blinds her sometimes, though not without cause. The Tyrion incident, releasing Jaime, etc. She thought it was best for her family.
Bronn Urgandy
She's alright ain't she. Her story is about what happens when you take a loving wife and mother (privileged position or not is irrelevant) and completely strip everything she has from her slowly and incredibly painfully, all because of the greed, ambition, lust for vengeance, power and other not particularly important vices of the characters arround her, even those on her side. I must be a masochist because I enjoy Cat's chapters and her character.
