Ronfried_IV
I am rewatching the seasons at the moment and just arrived at the Theon speech in season 2 and I have to say it is a great speech, maybe my favorite of the complete series so far, at least he gets a real badass moment for a second, he deseres it even more if you know whats coming for him. But there are other good ones too. Which do you like best and why? Theon? Dany? Tyrion? of course show only, so for now Wylla and Wyman are not in the disscusion, they would probably win anyway... What is dead may never die.

King Tyrion I
Tyrion rallying the troops in "Blackwater". It was the truth, plain and simple. Second place goes to Oberyn in "Mockingbird". Theon was great, too. But I also liked Tyrion's speech in "The Laws of Gods and Men". It was really really awesome. Especially with his facial expressions. ~DarkHorse~
I found Theon's speech really cringe worthy. It sounded like something he had rehearsed as a child, dreaming of glory. He f*cked up, it was not a glorious situation and no one was falling for it. Tyrion's speech was good because he was blunt and did not glorifying the odds. The same with Jon's speech to the Wildlings (Hardhome) about them having to work together and even then it might not be enough. "But at least we'll give the f*ckers a fight" That's the spirit! Also, Thorne's speech during the Battle of castle Black was good (what a waste of a character....)

LatrineDiggerBrian
Tywinn on the "Family Name" during his first scene. One of the best introduction of a character ever done. Also Tywin's speech to Tommen right over Joffrey's dead body. It's funny most of these speeches were original material written for the show yet D & D are such horrible writers? RGBeyondAsshai
I have several favorites... Maester Aemon...nearly every time he talks but I love his "Love is the death of duty" speech when he reveals his identity to Jon. Oberyn's speech about the first time he saw baby Tyrion Jaime's speech to Brienne in tub about the day he killed the king. Tyrion's talk to Jon about bastards Varys "storms come and go, the big fish eat the little fish and I keep paddling" Sam's painful admission about why he came to castle black Syrio's instruction "girl, boy, you are a sword" Jorah's "ghost grass" isn't a speech, but I love the way he delivers those lines. Also Tyrion at the Blackwater and when he lost it at the trial It's funny most of these speeches were original material written for the show yet D & D are such horrible writers? Nearly all of mine come from the books, though I will say Oberyn's being moved to the jail and delivered the way it was made it incredibly powerful. Pigeon Pie
Oberyn, without a doubt. S4E7, Mockingbird. "Unveil the Freak"... Also, Thorne's speech during the Battle of castle Black was good (what a waste of a character....) What waste of a character exactly? Because he stabbed Jon? So Marsh and Yarwyck stabbing him... everything is okay. But Thorne stabbing him.... waste of a character? Let me get something straight; book Thorne is much more one dimensional and hateful towards Jon, so Jon send him on (possibly) suicide mission. But what if Jon hadn't sent him? There is a big possibility that he would have participated in assassination. TV Thorne is more complex character who actually has some respect for Jon and beside that, he is a capable battle commander and experienced ranger... a better character overall. But then, there are some issues: Why would ser Alliser allow Jon to cross the Wall only to murder him later? Well that can be explained... First and probably the most simple reason: a bit of sloppy writing, a need for drama and providing a familiar face to the audience (Marsh and Yarwyck are practicly background characters on TV) . Beyond that, everything is about interpretation. Maybe ser Alliser didn't initially want to kill Jon but was later persuaded by Marsh and Yarwyck considering that almost every major officer participated in assassination and the assassination itself was more carefully planned and done in secret as opposed to very rushed book counterpart. After that... well they can blame the wildlings for that.
