What is Euron hiding?

The Glad King

As we all know, Euron is a rather unsavory person, so he surely did some fucked up shit while exiled. So I just had an epiphony: what if the reason he cut his silence crew member's tongues off is that he is trying to avoid them bringing up something he did? Of course, you can argue that he only does it because of his sadistic tendencies, but I think there must be more to it.It could relate to the faceless man theory, but he might of dabbled in black magic when he went to Essos, or not gone at all, which are other things he might want to hide. Also, where the fuck could've gotten the horn from, and is it even real? Does anybody know if there has been any theories on this published yet? If not, let's see if we can figure it out.

Maybe it's the opposite. Maybe he's done jackshit and cut his crew's tongues so they can't tell people he's never set foot on Valyria. The Reader certainly thinks that's the case.

And he stole the horn from Pyat Pree and his pals, who wanted to use it against Dany.

Qarth.

Oh, I didn't recall that. I should probably reread the ironborn chapters from Feast.

Is the mysterious guy who arrived on the DAY his brother died, who drinks magic potion, who knows about dragons and has a relic from old Valyria hiding something?

 What do you think?

Okay, well I guess that it's kind of obvious. I'm just wondering what exactly is the thing he doesn't want his crewmen to mention. That was more the point of my post.

He probably lost his crew a few days after he was banished and had to spend his money on cheap, mute slaves instead to pretend he was a great adventurer.

It's not spelled out in the text, but very likely. The qartheen warlocks he intercepted were most likely those mentioned heading for Pentos to take vengeance on Dany, and Qarth had wars with Valyria in the past.

Maybe they're not even mutes, he just asks them to be real quiet

I feel the guy is full of shit. I mean, he's playing up his image of mysterious dangerous rogue, so the mutes contribute to this whole persona he's constructing. If he really had dark powers or something, he wouldn't shut up about it.

Well then, maybe he lied about visiting Valyria? Maybe they know if he murdered Balon or not? Maybe he spent his time seducing people instead of raiding them and he wants that kept silent? Who knows.

Even his eye patch is fake.

the truth is, euron has spent his exile rotting in a braavosi cell...he was only released by the sealord to claim the iron fleet and escort danny to westeros..the sealord has a pact to return the targaryens to power and danys anti slave position makes her the perfect dragon for braavos...the iron fleet was the perfect solution to dany s lack of navy..the crew had to be muted to keep euron secret..

My theory: the dragon horn is a complete fake. Euron made it himself. Victarion will try to use it, get eaten by dragons for his trouble, and Euron will pee his britches laughing. That's ironborn sense of humor for ya.

Euron's secret is pretty similar to Oberyn's, really: despite what he likes to project, he's not a very interesting character and isn't all that important.

In all seriousness, there's a decent chance Bloodraven has tried to contact him.  Whether Bloodraven is still influencing him in dreams or not, I don't know.  I don't think Euron is going to be a central player in the overall conflict though, and his main characteristic is surely that he's full of nonsense.
