Ormond
I know the kind of books he wrote probably aren't hugely popular with most readers of this board, but I still think it's worth noting the passing of Pat Conroy, author of books like The Great Santini and Prince of Tides: http://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-way/2016/03/05/469283568/best-selling-author-pat-conroy-dies-at-70 These days 70 seems like a young age for a famous author to leave us. I read everything that he published. It is a sad day. Pat Conroy carried the tradition of the Southern orator in his work, and his voice will be missed. But have you read "The Boo" I am really sorry to hear this like him or hate him he did for the south what Stephen King did for New England in terms of giving people a literary touchstone. Ser Scot A Ellison
Pat Conroy wrote beautiful poetic prose. I will love The Prince of Tides till the day I die. But remember Conroy was a desiple of Thomas Wolfe another writer who died far too young.
Zorral
Pat Conroy's books introduced me to the Low Country and South Carolina.
Ser Scot A Ellison
It's weird to read about places I've lived and visited, frequently.
