slant
Okay, what does the opening credits mean?
Zorral
Do you mean the one we got in ep 2 that wasn't the opening credit for ep 1? Presumably spilled rivers of blood are the currents one must ride to arrive at the throne.
slant
^yes, the new one in episode 2! Im not sure if it is ancient Valyria or not, or if its the Targaryen bloodline Anyway, found it too blurry and could not understand the meaning, so it was not exciting
Ran
The opening credits show the descent of blood from Aegon The Conqueror down to Rhaenyra. The showrunner, Ryan Condal, imagines that it represents a lost device of the blood mages of Valyria who would use the device to keep track of lineages of the high lords of Valyria. Each symbol represents a king, their spouse or spouses, and their descendants. The place where you see a lot of different bloodlines spreading out is where Jaehaerys and Alysanne are joined.
