And there’s your new custom title, Myrddin.

Right now, me being a writer is a myth, while for others it's more truthful. ;)

And Scot, you have no idea. How his arm can reach from Ireland to Ecuador is beyond me. :o

But basically he switched back to writing novels as he found it more rewarding creatively, not more rewarding financially.

Do you think he would have done it if it had no prospect of paying very much at all? He's obviously in a bad spot creatively for "A Dance with Dragons" due to the time it is taking - would he put himself through the sweat of writing it, and the constant carping of so-called fans, if he wasn't going to get anything back from it? If he had to write TV to pay the bills while writing ASOIAF, would we have got so much of it as we already have, or would it have been pushed to the side for paying gigs?

I'm sure writers will be able to survive. Apart from ebooks and music there are also other content that is easily downloaded from illegal sources - like software and games. Yet the software and games industry still survive.

In reference to China:

As long as they are going to steal it, we want them to steal ours. They'll get sort of addicted, and then we'll somehow figure out how to collect sometime in the next decade. —Bill Gates
