StannisEndGame
GRRM said in an interview about GoT that D&D wanted to kill off a particular character during season 2 but he advised them not to since that character would "do this important thing" in winds of winter and they changed their minds. Now who might this character be? And what is this important thing? My guess would be Lancel Lannister, since he is a fairly minor character and was in harms way during blackwater. So they planned to have him killed in blackwater but GRRM stopped them.I guess he will play a big part in the trial of faith in WOW and therefore has to be around.Any other suggestions? Amerie
If Cersei has Robert Strong fighting for her, could Lancel fight for the Faith in her trial?
The Dragon has three heads
Well they offed Rakharo, irri, jiqui, pyatt pree, and doreah(kind of).Lancel is a good bet, Bron maybe?Thinning their huge cast out is inevitable and will inevitably give spoilers to who is important and who isn't... boondockquigs
i think to get to the bottom of this is realize that they wanted to cut someone out of the tv program. what character didnt go over well with fans of HBO's show?

J. Stargaryen
The OP sounds suspiciously like the season 1 situation where TV Drogo killed off Mago against GRRM's advice, because Mago still has something important to do in the books. Jon Wolfwalker
Looking at season two's cast and taking into account the people we know die or appear to die in the books, I'd guess the Hound.
StannisEndGame
Hot Pie is actually kind of random, he doesn't do shit in ASOS so why keep him? but I have a hard time seeing him playing a crucial role later on... What is he supposed to do? Save Jaime?

therealbando
Dontos?I doubt it`s him because he`s already dead so he won`t be doing much damage in TWoW
Amerie
Osha is a good call. Doubt it would be Barristan after all they'll have his big reveal with Dany and him and Jorah bickering later. I think it's someone more under the radar. Bronn.
J. Stargaryen
StannisEndGame, can you provide a link to the article you reference in your first post? Because, again, this sounds suspiciously like the season 1 situation I referenced up thread, but with the details changed.
thewingedwolf
Lancel Lannister is definitely a good bet. Osha is perhaps another good one as well.
flidderman
re: Osha. I recall reading that GRRM didn't have any plans for her going into the future, but after seeing Natalia Tena's portrayal decided to give her an upgrade.
