SerMudz #1 Posted May 11, 2013 I noticed that during the scene between the visiting Freys, and the Starks/Tullys, when the Freys leaves one of them has a visible limp as he walks...was this a nod to Lame Lothar from the books? My memory's hazy but didnt he have a limp?Has it been confirmed if those too are actually supposed to bé Lothar and Walder Rivers? Or was it just a nod to book fans and theyre just random un-named freys?
Pinkie Baelish #2 Posted May 12, 2013 Both castings have been confirmed to be Black Walder and Lame Lothar. And I think the limp was definitely a nod to book readers.http://winteriscoming.net/2012/11/black-walder-cast/http://winteriscoming.net/2013/01/season-three-casting-update/
kingofashes #3 Posted May 12, 2013 He also seemed in character. Very polite and careful not to give offence and unlike the blunt replies from the guy next to him (cousin, brother?)Enjoyed this episode.
teemo #4 Posted May 12, 2013 He gave me the creeps. big time.
Raion Laion #5 Posted May 12, 2013 He gave me the creeps. big time.Exactly. Too creepy. I pictured Lothar as clever enough to hide his game masterfully. In that scene there is so much shade being thrown that even Rickon would see what a backstabbing bitch Lame Lothar is.
Pinkie Baelish #6 Posted May 12, 2013 You guys get creeped out too easily. He seemed perfectly fine to me, although a bit solemn. Black Walder was the only one that made me feel uneasy.

The Mondrian Oak #9 Posted May 12, 2013 Both castings have been confirmed to be Black Walder and Lame Lothar. And I think the limp was definitely a nod to book readers.http://winteriscomin...ck-walder-cast/http://winteriscomin...casting-update/Nod? What nod? The actor plays Lame Lothar, Lame Lothar has a limp! Where's the nod? It's like saying Melisandre's red hair is a nod to book readers!
Pinkie Baelish #10 Posted May 12, 2013 Nod? What nod? The actor plays Lame Lothar, Lame Lothar has a limp! Where's the nod? It's like saying Melisandre's red hair is a nod to book readers!Well, they could have easily left it out. IIRC, Dagmer Cleftjaw didn't have a cleft in his upper lip in the show, so his name was pretty stupid. He could simply have been Lothar Frey, and it wouldn't have changed anything
Lady Arwen #11 Posted May 12, 2013 I actually really liked the way Black Walder and Lame Lothar were portrayed in this scene. And those little hats were oddly Frey-ish.
SerMudz #12 Posted May 12, 2013 So the other guy was Black Walder instead of Bastard Walder/Walder Rivers?
GallowKnight #13 Posted May 12, 2013 Well, they could have easily left it out. IIRC, Dagmer Cleftjaw didn't have a cleft in his upper lip in the show, so his name was pretty stupid. He could simply have been Lothar Frey, and it wouldn't have changed anythingThey didn't actually call him Cleftjaw in the show though. I think.
Mammothsbane #14 Posted May 12, 2013 Both castings have been confirmed to be Black Walder and Lame Lothar. And I think the limp was definitely a nod to book readers.http://winteriscomin...ck-walder-cast/http://winteriscomin...casting-update/I picked up Lothar.. I kinda imagined Black Walder would be more imposing given his reputation. And I imagine he had a beard. Oh well.
sarah.jenice #15 Posted May 12, 2013 I thought they were perfect. I like what wardrobe does with the costuming to differentiate between houses. Freys having hats like that suits them.
