Abyssalix
So we dont see much of rickon later on, but we do hear him being mentioned, so what do you think rickon will have in those two upcoming books?
BryndenStark
I have a disturbing idea in the back of my mind that he'll somehow be killed...Though, as of now, I'm 100% sure he's on Skagos. Knowing him, once he returns, he'll want to punish Ramsay (Despite being on the young side).
thecryptile
I don't think Rickon will die in the series. He'll come back from Skagos mounted on a Unicorn, leading an army of cannibals to take his rightful place as Lord of Winterfell.
Lion of Judah
Rickon is sort of the only hope for house Stark, Bran isn't going anywhere, Sansa is married to a Lannister and Arya is on another continent. It's Rickon or no one, so for that reason I think he survives to carry on the legacy of house Stark.
The guy from the Vale
Rickon will be played up in TWoW, only to die or become useless by the end of the book. I don't think it's a coincidence his direwolf was called Shaggydog...
Balerion06
Rickon will be played up in TWoW, only to die or become useless by the end of the book. I don't think it's a coincidence his direwolf was called Shaggydog...The name "Shaggydog" seems to be played for irony in this instance. Unlike any of the other Starks, Rickon has been completely and utterly irrelevant for the better part of 5 books, has been missing from 3, and is the least developed Stark, yet is about to abruptly enter on stage to cause massive impact. He's literally the antithesis of what a shaggydog story is. chimere
I would bet my mom's life that Rickon is KitN or Lord of Winterfell at the end of the series. Thankfully my mom is expendable  JK everyone, but I really do think he will be KitN.
Arya's Italics
He seems like kind of a messed up kid, so I can see him going on a murderous rampage. Maybe Shaggydog will kill Ramsay Snow/Bolton...
BryndenStark
He'll be too young to be KiTN...unless GRRM provides a timeskip of at least 10-15 years. It's a shame that he's likely to be the only Stark in Winterfell...I may be a bit too sentimental but I was kind of hoping that the Starks would gather once more at Winterfell. unSonofStannis
He'll probably die because I think Lady Dustin wants to marry a Stark and hence become one like what Theon wants and it would be kind of weird for her marrying Rickon so I think she'll marry Jon when he becomes KITN. OberynBlackfyre
He will come back as The Black Wolf and avenge his family. Created a thread about this but the search is down :/
Alistair's Pantaloons
Martin should have made the books take up more time. Screw the "five year gap," have the whole series take a decade or two so that Rickon can grow into an actual character instead of a weepy boy who gets like three lines per book/season. Corvo Attano
The Manderlys will raise him to be a good Lord of Winterfell, and then install him when he gets old enough, even if only as a Stark-shaped figurehead for the North to rally to.
Leif
King in the North.
A Crow Come Over
He will be called The Black Wolf, the wild and crazy of the Stark children.
The Lady Lannister
He seems like kind of a messed up kid, so I can see him going on a murderous rampage. Maybe Shaggydog will kill Ramsay Snow/Bolton...He is only a toddler... Or max 5 years old by the end of ADWD.
Fire Eater
He is only a toddler... Or max 5 years old by the end of ADWD.5 years-old sounds about right, and people don't stay the same person they are at 5, something people often forget in regards to Rickon. If he reunites with his siblings and someone, likely Jon, watches over and raises him then he could turn out alright. He will be Lord of WF, and his cousin, Jon will support him as king.
