Defend the indefensible in ASoIaF

Miri Maz Duur, from her lowly position as a slave and refugee, managed to destroy the menace prophesized to make the Dothraki scum rulers of every nation on earth. Much like Samwell Gamgee who, while unappreciated, was the real hero of LoTR, MMD is the unsung hero of ASOIAF.

Bowen Marsh and co. were also misunderstood heroes. In Jon Snow's short time as LC(a position he got by through trickery, albeit not his own) he managed to idiotically lose the Watch's entire naval force as well as Eastwatch's commander while trying to rescue some wildlings, sent Mance and a handful of Spearwives to capture the daughter-in-law of the Warden of the North from under his nose and bring her back to the wall, was about to send whatever remained of Castle Black's rangers on a suicide mission to rescue the very same wildings Cotter Pyke died trying to rescue(why not destroy the ground forces as well right?), and now was about to desert while leading wildlings against the Bolton forces(who to their knowledge just destroyed Stannis). Killing Jon was basically their only chance at that point to save the Watch, and they were willing to sacrifice their lives to do it. They should've done it sooner, if anything.

Tywin grew up as the heir to a feeble old man who, on top of all of his other faults, openly managed to fall under the control of a baseborn gold-digger and made a mockery of the house in the process, so what was he supposed to do when he came back home to find his de jure heir(who was already an object of mockery) going down the same path?

Oh but in Tyrion's case it was TWUE WUV you say - bullshit. There are perfectly decent looking men who have saved women's lives and never even got a bj out of it, you want to tell me a gargoyle like Tyrion managed to charm her so deeply she was willing to marry him by simply scaring off some bandits(you know, while tagging around uselessly while Jaime did all the work)? Bullshit. A much more likely theory is that Tysha hired the bandits herself, knowing that a glory hound like Jaime would have to get involved, and from there on proceeded to easily put the love-starved 13 yo midget under her spell, like the mistress of Tywin's father famously did to him. The conveniently placed "drunken" septon was likely a plant too.

Now, Tywin for all his faults was a shrewd man, and would've undoubtedly understood that Tysha's next move would be getting rid of him before he named anyone but Tyrion as his heir, perhaps by using the previously hired "bandits"(or more likely brothers or cousins) – so he had to act fast. Was getting her raped by an entire barracks a good move? No, but he had to get rid of her while making sure Tyrion would never meet with her again in secret(in which case all his efforts were for naught), so realistically it was either this or executing her. He was overall rather merciful, when you think about it.
