[Book Spoilers] Beautiful male characters in the TV series

The leaked script isn't real because Maisie says she'll be in 501 (in a recent FlicksandtheCity interview). Granted, sometimes they switch things in editing (she was supposed to be in 301 for example but was switched to 302 in post-production) BUT since they're far from that production stage and she said this much more recently than when that script came out, I think we can safely debunk it.

Hello, first (possibly only) post.

Haven't made it through all 13 hundred posts on here (although I've spent far longer reading them than a woman with 2 young kids, a job, and a cat that needs de-fleaing should do) but I'm a bit disappointed not to find more love for Tyrion - Peter Dinklage.

I've developed an outrageous crush on the man. Which I have to, shamefacedly, admit I initially found a bit odd. You know, the whole "hang on, he's a dwarf that's not right" rubbish. In fact it's really made me question myself quite a lot.......which is probably just trying to make a rather silly crush sound like an important political point. All I know is it's led to embarrassing events like having to run around the house trying frantically to delete the history on our ipad so my son won't see that I've been reading smutty fanfiction.....oh dear......got to grow out of this at some point.

As for the rest of the cast, Kit Harrington is a very pretty man and although at times his character was a bit dull I loved him being teased by Ygritte. Also just saw Jack Gleeson being interviewed and he seems lovely with such a beautiful accent - but ooops horribly young so maybe I'll try to forget that one.....

Yes, Dinklage is great, he has so much of that what can't be grasped and measured: charisma, a sense of humor, intelligence. And a great voice. No man with a rough and non modulated way of speaking could ever be attractive to me. I like my guys intelligent and funny and with a deep resonant voice. Compared to that sixpack and broad shoulders are cheap to get. My own guy who has the body of an, ahem, mature, quarterback, I fancy for his brains and his jokes and his voice (and his cooking ;) ) Btw, I have never met Mr Dinklage and know him from interviews only. Maybe I have no talent for real fangirling.

I have (grown) kids myself and may feel a little protective towards the character Tyrion as nerdy boy, anything else would be a little - weird, book Tyrion is only a few years older than my sons. Dinklage himself of course is close to my own age so the incestuous vibe is not there and I can try my best to catch up with fangirling.

I've been meaning to answer this post all morning.

First off, HELLO!! Great first post, and please, I hope it's not your last, come and oogle the guys with us any time.

Second, I think it is absolutely clear that Peter Dinklage and his Tyrion may be the most handsome, most beautiful, smaller type dude..EVAH!!! He is entirely too handsome to play Tyrion, LOL. It does totally change the dynamic. I love his hair with the Tyrion dye job, too, it shows his beautiful eyes. Also, I think Peter's intelligence and personality may just be the sexiest thing about him.

It's weird how the book calls for Tyrion to be a gargoyle, just about, and the show casts the handsomest guy ever for the role.

I believe it is not important if the actor for the character Tyrion is a good looking dwarf since in a superstitious pre-modern society like Westeros any born "cripple", even the prettiest, would have beeen perceived as curse by the gods, as abomination, as far lesser human being and as automatically ugly. Tyrion himself and the people around him might not even have realized if he were a cute child: he was mishappen and therefore defined as ugly and useless, someone who should step out of the way and die.

So I have no problem with the casting of a good looking - shall I now be politically correct and say little person or name him what Westerosi call him if they are nice: dwarf) since it is correctly getting the spirit of the character. Apart from that they certainly went for the best actor.

I was talking about the possibilities for the storyline, as in, how they might work him into the story. Have you heard anything else about Jaqen?

I do agree, good looks or not, the Tyrion character is about how the society and Tyrion himself perceive and feel his dwarfism. BUT, I disagree about how the actual looks of Tyrion himself come into the issue of character. In the books, Tyrion's looks do come into how he perceives himself. He knows he isn't just dealing with the dwarf issue, he's dealing with not only being the misshappen dwarf, not only the ugliest one in the world, with mix matched eyes, warts, and coarse dark hairs sprouting out of his white blonde hair, but the fact that his nose was cut off makes it even worse. Tyrion (and some in his life) isn't just dealing with dwarfism.......he's dealing with the fact that he probably is the least handsome dwarf ever in the books. IT DOES MATTER, the differences, show and book. Book Tyrion has the double issue to come to terms with himself, forget society, the dwarfism and his displeasure with his looks. The differences in this respect do matter, I'm absolutely certain that BookTyrion would sell half his soul, or his wit, to look like Peter Dinklage.

I can't believe they wouldn't cast a great older actor as The Kindly Man and recreate some of the Tywin magic. We haven't had The Waif casting either.

Thanks, that's another possibility. Much better, too. I'd rather he do the Pate stuff without a face change. The other face was just his traveling face!

Thank you, that makes everything better. :)

You're welcome :3 Indeed, pretty men in shorts and v shirts make life more bearable.

WHY HE AINT NAKED?! WHY HE DONT JOG NAKED?

I agree 100%. Well, life can't be perfect, so there had to be some fabrics...

I thought I'd bring this recent pic since we were discussing Jaime and his leathers. Bronn looks good, too. After all, swagger and attitude can be veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeery sexy, too.

Yes, the leathers. The pretty, sexy leathers....
(Yes, Bronn is pretty yummy too)

Because I'm a wonderful person, here's a gifset where NCW actually spells out the words "My privates".

A wonderful, wonderful person... Thank you...

Speaking of the words he's spelling out, look closely as he rolls over... If we must have Jaime in Porne, let him have a little fun, that's all I'm saying...
