Later poof his channel was banned. I watch a lot of youtube especially on ASOIAF content. And I loved his theories and was was looking forward to seeing how they played out in the books. He really should just be a guy infront of a camera though, not have tons of copyrighted arwork in his video. There are way too factual mistakes in there (Renly didn't know about the twincest until Stannis sent his letters in ACoK), let alone weird presuppositions to build theories from... The Hightowers wanted to get rid of the dragons due to an obscure prophecy the High Septon made - which obviously referred only to the threat Oldtown faced from the Targaryen dragons during the Conquest - even after a Hightower branch (Alicent Hightower's children) effectively became Targaryens? Krusty Kraken Posted February 19, 2015 Share Posted February 19, 2015 I think this is unfair, basically because I'm certain many other youtubers with a way bigger repercussion commit the same kind of infractions Preston Jacobs has done, and also, because the real reason behind this is the fact that forum dwellers dislike his theories, too wacky for some, too uninformed for others, but in the end, it's plain jealousy for all the repercussion his videos get as compared to the theories people post here on or reddit or whatever. I think that if you don't like it, you can argue against it or complain about it, but not try to destroy it, he hasn't hurt anyone through his videos, save for the pride of certain theory writers. He had been having problems. He just posted a video before this one talking about it. And now he is gone. And sorry wolf i am a first time poster and just didn't pay attention to where I was posting at all man. And i like his theories. Some are crackpot but some are going to turn how to have a lot of truth in them i bet. But he even says in his videos half of what he says is probably totally wrong at the end. He did not mention that in his video on getting in trouble. He actually says it could be because of other youtubers that are mad/disagreeable/jealous of what he is doing. Kind of like a conspiracy type thing it sounded like which is kinda fun when you think about it. But he seemed positive everything was going to work out. That was a few days ago. Taking a random book and scrapping any fool theory because "oh, it's fun!" or "maybe the author might see it this way!" it's creating a whole new generation of readers who doesn't know how to properly read, how to properly analyse, how to comprehend literary resources and how they are used by the author, and specially, who believe that ULTIMATE PLOT TWIST is the panacea of great literature and storytelling. That is what is lacking in presenting a theory via youtube. The lack of willingness to write theories out and engage with others is apparent. Griffin's Roost Posted February 19, 2015 Share Posted February 19, 2015 regardless if his theories make sense or not. why are people blowing up his spot. the guy said multiple times he will give you a shout out if you ask for one. and anyway the whole youtube world steals stuff. but the real funniest thing is that these people who complain their art is stolen, I guarantee the steal things also. weather it be music or movies or whatever.these people have to just leave this guy alone.
