... when it went to black as Dany walked into the funeral pyre?   A pretty beautiful head-fake that that was the end of the season.

I believe my exact words were "Oh no you f*cking didn't!" while my girlfriend shrieked and the three people on the other couch were yelling too.

I was surprised, would have been a lot more epic if they finished it with breastfeeding the dragons in the fire. I suppose a person actually being in fire is a hard thing to accomplish. And special effects are expensive. So I understand. Still a good scene.

With you there, all the way.  I was like 'WHAT?  Are you freakin' kidding me??    That's IT?  THAT'S the end??  Then, whew, Jorah's boots came walking along and sanity was restored.  Yep, nifty head fake.

It wasn't as bad as The Sopranos finale where people were running up to their cable boxes because they thought that the feed had gone out.

Well knowing the story I knew it was only a pregnant pause, but I can imagine if I was new to the whole series I might have had a bit of a why the face moment.

I'm a little pissed about the lack of comet.

Pretty sure this thread isn't about whether or not you're mad that there's no comet.

No. I'll leave screaming at the TV to teenage girls watching the American Idol finals and NASCAR fans with Billy Jimjames Jr crashes into the wall. As it turns out I have a bit more self-control than that.

Where 'epic' means 'awkwardly hilarious'.

I actually forgot about that. When the scene faded to black I did think "You've got to be kidding me." For a split second I thought the episode was over.

The fade out didn't even register to me because I was so certain they'd be showing the dragons.

Only when the music of dragons was heard again in the world, I joined in singing screaming.

I agree on both accounts, spoiler and non-spoiler. Loved that ending.

Well, I knew that they were *supposed* to show dragons. But I also knew that they had already made major alterations (AKA skipping Tyrion's battle and Whispering Woods) because of budget concerns or whatever.

There had already been several comments ealier in the evening of "Oh, they better not screw this up." Then when it went to black there was just a moment of certainty that they had indeed screwed it up. Just enough time for the nerdrage to start to build before they cut back in.

Yeah I can understand why some people might have been worried, but for me anyway it didn't even cross my mind that they wouldn't show the dragons. I assumed when it went black they'd quickly come back and show them.

There was no screaming but I had a "Wait the fuck a minute" moment, for sure.
