Bronn Stone
It should come as no surprise that I think the team name still needs work. I am perhaps the most vocal advocate for the once-ironclad rule about "Location - Name" with the locations from ASOIAF or Dunk & Egg. As it is, Analu's "Maelys Monsters" isn't in strict compliance, but it is at least in the genre. Nothing wrong with substance abuse as a theme, but I'd twist it to theme. And I must say it isn't going easily. The pyromancers refer to Wildfire as "The Substance", but don't really have a location purely associated with themselves. The warlocks of Qarth use Shade of the Morning and it is easy enough to project that to overuse. So I guess my suggestions are: (in strict compliance) Qarth Blue-lips Kings Landing Substance Abusers (in Analu compliance) Mad King Substance Abusers Rossarts Abuse (off guidance) Yi Ti Ponies
Jaxom 1974
I think Maelys Monsters fits the theme well...not perfectly, but well...but I digress...and agree with you in general about the naming rules...

RaceBannon42
Bronn and I have a Trade I give Antonio Brown, Jason Witten Bronn gives Brandin Cooks, Rob Gronkowski, Spencer Ware, Teddy Bridgewater I hate to give up AB, but with Charles out to start I need Ware. Bronn Stone
The contracts make the difference. Gronk is one year, but Cooks is two at $9. AB is market value, so I'll make both him and Witten one year contracts. Ware is only $3 and Bridgewater $1 so I assume Race will give them long-term deals. It also gives me the space to pick up a kicker and a defense.
grozeng
Good trade. Bronn, I bet you wish you just spent more on Brown even more now. It's a lot to give up for someone you could have had at the auction. But I think this is one that really benefits everyone involved.
Bronn Stone
I thought the trade was equal in value without Ware. But I was in a rush, with my unbalanced roster and I wasn't going to let Ware get in the way of making a deal in time to start the season. Besides, if Ware is good this year, I am in for a pretty good season. Have him a lot. But yeah, wish I'd bid up Brown. Though since I spent almost nothing on WR, even with the 17 left over I would probably have lost out on a RB and RB was a bigger need for me than WR. I just didn't get Brown anywhere else and wanted to ride that train once this season.
grozeng
Yeah, Cooks at that contract and Gronk should have been good enough to get Brown.

grozeng
Just realized the spreadsheet I was using was from before we expanded the rosters. So the number of empty slots on the first page is off. Dollars were the same, just we moved from 19 to 22 players. So everyone had 3 more spots to fill. Sorry. I'm pretty sure I've had my name for as long as this league has been in existence - going on 10+ years? Not changing it, buddy (groz - I updated my contracts on previous page)

Bronn Stone
Definitely wasn't suggesting changing it. Just showing I may be a dinosaur old fogey, but I do have a little bit of flexibility left.

grozeng
Cool. I think we have everybody. Good luck this year to everyone. This really is my favorite league we do. I like the keeper aspect. I am thinking next year I may try to revive WJ's old Keeper league where you get to keep the player each year either 2 or 3 rounds earlier than they were drafted. I think 1st and 2nd and 3rd would be your first round pick the next year, 4th-7th cost 2 rounds earlier next year and 8th and later were 3 rounds earlier. We would need committed owners that would make the draft so we could make sure the right people wre drafted in the right round, but I always liked that league too.
