samcurtis Posted November 23, 2008 Share Posted November 23, 2008 Now that we know the show will most likely shoot in the UK, and because I just watched the Two Towers again today, I'd like to change my suggestion for Ned to David Wenham. [url="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0920992/"]http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0920992/[/url] Most people probably only know him as Faramir, and the one eyed dude from 300, but he's in a bunch of Australian movies, almost all of which he is exceptionally good in, and playing very diverse roles (check out Gettin Square to see him as a hilarious junkie, or The Boys to see him as one of the most vile characters I've ever seen on TV). He was also voted Australia's Sexiest Man, I believe, back when he was playing the charming Diver Dan in the TV series Sea Change. He's got the right look, and the acting chops to be a great Ned Stark. Also, it'd be great if you could get in an early Viggo Mortensen cameo, as the Watch deserter who is executed by Ned in chapter one.
