  1. Wow, ^^^^^^ thats the first time ive been able to actually post or do anything on the board in over a few weeks. "431" behind me( fingers crossed)
  2. Bannon going to the Big House soon! Appeals court upholds Steve Bannon’s contempt-of-Congress conviction for defying Jan. 6 subpoena https://www.cnn.com/2024/05/10/politics/steve-bannon-appeal-denied
  3. Morel shrooms are popping wonderfully and ive been harvesting them every few days.
  4. Not defending meant! I wish this forum would fix the damn 431 bullsht so I could properlt edit posts again!
  5. Also Kristi Noem(sp) is a nasty lowlife regardless so no im defending her, just talking about some farm realities.
  6. To be clear putting down animals that are in pain is not rare in the rural midwest of the U.S. I dont think its anything thats relished. I've known people that would pay thousands for the vets to do whatever they can to help their pets but at the same time, some of those same people faced with believing the animal is in terminal pain and they believe they are ending the pets suffering. I myself wouldnt do it because I'm not expert enough to understand a pets pain or whether its something terminal, I have a never give up hope attitude over illnesses for humans and pets, I wouldnt do assisted suicide for those same reasons. However a high percent of people do believe in such actions and as I said, putting down a suffering pet is something people will do and they will do it themselves without a vet, usually burying or cremating the animal themselves as well. Thats the sad end for for some farm animals, these people arent driving in 30 miles to hire a vet with a needle, they feel the end of life responsibility is thiers I think.
  7. Was a bit surprised to see headline in Huffpost that Putin didnt order a Navalny death according to U.S. intelligence. https://www.huffpost.com/entry/us-russia-navalny-putin_n_662f6b1ee4b09dcb783058ea Its a distinction without merit imo. Even if he didnt "order" his death, he certainly made all the condition for his demise possible and holds responsibility for the death.
  8. Tis that time of season, whats growing in your plots everybody?
  9. Joining the chorus on getting those pesky 431 pages, they are random and temporary, never know when they will pop up it seems. Eta: Today it seems to be when im using the "Like" feature.
  10. I like this- "Mark Daigneault Wins Coach Of The Year Award" A lot of convo on the other teams out West, but man these Thunder aint gonna go quietly into the night this post season. They are solid, deep and built for the long haul with that shit ton of draft capital still. Eta: Led the NBA in point differential, Field Goal Percentage, and allowed the fewest points per game. Those are Championship numbers y'all !
  11. You can read the story here- https://newrepublic.com/post/181023/samuel-alito-trump-immunity-black-day-supreme-court If Yahoo makes you uncomfortable? Its a very excellent take down of that dirtbag Alito.
  12. Here's an outstanding editorial on just how historically embarrassing the current SCOTUS is. Their depth of depravity knows no bounds and Alito may be the most disgraceful of the knuckle dragging conservative majority. https://www.yahoo.com/news/samuel-alito-resentment-goes-full-141827625.html
  13. Yep them "formers" always manage to get the deficit reduced too. Gephardt, Markey, Alan Simpson, half of K Street crawls in and out of the woodpile every few years with this or that grand solution, the new, new, paradigm thats going to change this or that grand challenge whether its school shootings, or too high of taxes/spending. Thats been going on since the 90's, but it never seems to produce much fruit after the initial weekend of publicity.
  14. I really have a hard time generating any empathy when listening to complaints about U.S. election interference when no other country has meddled in more elections in the history of World than yours truly Mr Blinken. Its become a case of what goes around come around. "Choose between stability and ‘downward spiral,’ China tells Blinken during Beijing trip" https://www.cnn.com/2024/04/25/world/stability-spiral-china-blinken-intl-hnk
  15. To answer the thread question- For me, NO. AI generated is not art, I would classify it the same as maybe a glass pane, maybe decorative, but not an artistic creation. Now if a person were to turn around and depict the machine generated images, depict with thier own skills that is, then yes I could consider that an artistic act. But a machine generation is no more than the smoke off a vehicle muffler, its just a function or byproduct of that machine, some call it a widget.
  16. Columbia Univ. Jewish students having their Passover in the protest encampment- Video enclosed "Inside the Seder dinner on Columbia's Gaza protest encampment" https://www.cnn.com/2024/04/23/us/video/seder-passover-columbia-university-protests-ny-digvid
  17. Im positive me and a busload from Chi-town were out there on one of those weekends with you. Marching, rallying, protests and picketing are relished memories from the those long 8 years that the "Bush The Lesser" regime occupied the White House. Whether it was opposing the Iraq invasion or fighting for a fair labor contract I had a bullhorn or home made picket sign ready to go. People saying its pointless is funny, it filled my esteem with light during those long dark days when Cheney and Rumsfield were bombing the shit out of the cradle of civilization. My conscious was clear in opposition and that was priceless to me, far from pointless.
  18. Seasoned protesters recognize the Black Bloc Anarchists among them and understand they can draw a disproportionate amount of media attention. I usually tend to land heavily on the side of the street protestors, they arent driven to action till theyve been grievously wronged in the majority of instances. The fact that a few anarchists relish getting in on the ride and are seeking publicity doesnt dissuade me from seeing the overall good from standing up to and countering the power structures and misguided decision makers that have made the conditions necessary for the protests in the first place. In other words you have to leap over a shit ton of guilty party to point out or call out the protestors in a lot of cases. They get my benefit of doubt, few bad apples aside.
  19. Damn straight it needs to eventually be handed over to the Ukranians, in the form of reparations for Putins war crimes.
  20. I really think this ( stripping felons of SS protection) is a good idea that should be enacted. The DISGRACED Former Protectees Act would terminate Secret Service protection for individuals who otherwise qualify for it upon sentencing following conviction for a Federal or State felony. https://democrats-homeland.house.gov › ...
  21. Im having a hard time seeing anything slowing the Celtics from reaching the Finals.
  22. Having soured on Kanye after his Kim K breakup, Trump has his eyes on a new hip-hop buddy. Apparently Trump has been strongly considering adding P-Diddy as his running mate based on Melania's affinity for his music. The pea brain runs strong in the Trump clan.
  23. I was recently reading about some of that persecution of the Baha'i in Iran. They were bulldozing cemeteries and attempting to erase any cultural trace of some Baha'i communities.
