  1. I watched the trailer at 0.25 speed... Yeah, I got nothing. I couldn't find Alia anywhere. There's a shot of Sardaukar using what look like cristswords, but I can't tell.
  2. Are you still taking the antacids? How is that working for you?
  3. I want to see the film where the Greeks teach the Brits "How to Have Sex". I'm sure a google search will turn something up.
  4. May December. OK OK OK. So So So. So when... So when Jared Leto, "JArEd LEtO" acts like kind of a creep on set to get into character for the sake of his "method"... But when Natalie Portman does it... Yeah, pretty good movie.
  5. My walls are high, Sucka. The portcullis is down, son.
  6. I just read that Rogue Squadron was supposed to hit theaters this month. Crazy.
  7. Days of Thunder is a guilty pleasure of mine. Let them that is without sin cast the first stone, you idiots.
  8. Even in terms of practical effects, there's really not much there. 80% of that movie is people talking in rooms. Not that I'm knocking that. I think making people talking in rooms engaging is the sign of a great filmmaker. Some of my favorite scenes ever are people talking in rooms. It's also possible, due to the vagaries of the submission/nomination process and the whole "for your consideration" campaign hoo-ha, Universal just didn't think it was worth it to submit this film in the VFX category.
  9. One could argue (and I’d agree) that Oppenheimer just isn’t a very VFX heavy film. Expect nominations for cinematography, editing, costume design, production design, hair and makeup.
  10. Yeah, it’s weird. But if they put it up, sure, I guess. I recall James Wan was seriously pissed that the first Aquaman didn’t make the VFX shortlist. Not a nomination mind you, just one of the 10 films that get shortlisted to determine the nominees. We’ll see what happens. I could see Indy 5 getting a nomination. The visuals in that movie were damn good. One of the better examples of de-aging I’ve seen.
  11. https://variety.com/2023/film/awards/oscars-visual-effects-finalists-rebel-moon-wonka-spider-verse-barbie-1235827647/ The 96th Oscars will be held on Sunday, March 10. 12. Jesus. There was a time when All in the Family, Maude, Sanford and Sons, and The Jeffersons were all on TV at the same time.
  13. Dune 2 will cross a billion. Calling it now. Muh guts can't generate a box office prediction for Furiosa at this time. Inquiries will be made.
  14. Dune 2 would have crushed it. Aquaman 2 would have crushed it. Hell, The Abyss re-release might just crush it. And there are plenty of underperforming films from the first 10 months of the year.
  15. It looked like a cigarette lighter or a fob or something. Who brings a fish to a con?
  16. Guardians 3, Super Mario and Spider-verse all did quite well. The Marvels is purported to be one of the most expensive films of the year, and it will be lucky to crack the top 30 in terms of WW box office. So no, it is kind of unique.
  17. Monday's domestic B.O. was $184k from 2,200 screens. $84 per screen on average. In its 4th week, guaranteed this thing is playing to some empty theaters. Not gloating mind you. I'm just astonished with what's happening.
