The normal thing to do about troll posts is to just ignore them. The further you feed the troll, the more it becomes an annoyance.

I will say i expected viserys court to be more lively and fun. His reign was similar to robert (without debt and cuckolding) where he partied held numerous tourneys and had lots of fun. The guy enjoyed his kingship and avoided conflict as much as possible hence the black and green fued which he never tried to stamp out. The show made it clear that war was brewing even before alicent married viserys. So the atmoshpere was very tense and on edge from the very first episode.

Anything that involves killing has become the norm within our society.

Bran would be doing the same thing he was doing throughout acok. Just chilling at winterfell and ruling. Maybe expand into the hornwood crisis and make it a bit spicier. Some interesting plot can be created for the north in which bran will witness.

Yeah the Harold and branda marriage is interesting. Imagine if they had kids and those kids decide to make a bid for their claim on winterfell.

Jamie and Brienne stay longer in riverrun. Jamie in the comfort of his cell, and Brienne in the service of catelyn. Postpone the ironborn invasion since the only reason Martin had them invade the north was for plot convenience reasons. This way cat and robb arent grief stricken to do what they did until ASOS. Another can be introduced in between ASOS AFFC. Stannis can remain at dragonstone licking his wounds. Wilding attack of the wall can also be either longer or postponed due to black brothers successfully skirmishing and maybe northmen like umber and mountain clans send men (which honestly should’ve happened). Roose trapped south of moat cailin because of ironborn, Ramsey and ryswells unable to liberate the moat. Maybe have crannogmen skirmish with Bolton and frey men at border between the twins and neck. I still find it unrealistic that roose and company were allowed to March through the neck without breaking a sweat. Correct me if I’m wrong since most of what I wrote is from what I can remember from the top of my head.

I’ve always said that Martin could just introduce gaps in each book. Whenever it is applicable. Having a 5 year gap is just too complicated. Instead just extend the periods that happen within the books, and also add a yearly gap in between each book.

This is interesting, I never knew this. So Tolkien disliked what the Middle English and modern English became. And would prefer that the Latin language wouldve never influenced Old English. If Normans never invaded or influenced the language. It is likely that modern English would be more similar to Nordic or German. Because I remember reading that old Anglo Saxons could interact in a conversation with the danish. Supposedly the languages weren’t so different.

I remember reading somewhere that George suffers from the same thing other North American authors do. They make their fantasy worlds too big. This is because the US and Canada have a culture in which you use your car for going almost anywhere. And leads to authors like George to misinterpret how long it would actually take to walk somewhere. Compare this to Tolkien who lived in Britain for most of his life, and would go on long walks. This gave him a picture of actually how big our world is and how much space their is. Hence middle earth being allot more realistic in size and travel time. And if we’re being honest, just by looking at grrm I can tell he isnt the type that goes for long walks.

I agree, If I remember correctly the Valois were descendants of the capets through the female line which makes their claim much weaker than the Plantagenets. But since the french nobility didnt want an English king they ensured the Valois took it.

Considering that the dance was made after the first couple books came out. It wouldve been impossible for George to have storms end burnt. Since in ACOK we see it for all its glory with its curtain walls standing proud and unburnt.

I would love a dunk n egg series. Id prefer it over house of the dragon. As you said, those that read dunk and egg are more likely to watch it. But your average viewer wont find it as interesting.

Or he might just be seen as the opportunistic schemer that he was. But I agree they will make him a hero because of the spin off series. Plus he is black and they don’t need that criticism atm.

Yes that show was a bit too much on the sexual content part. I had a work colleague that hadnt watch the show nor read the books and he told me a friend said that a brother rapes his sister in a church. Lol what a way to scare people off. I heard a rumour that one of the producers was the creep that loved to add these scenes. Yes they definitely will tweak some things. One of the major ones is the whole Targaryen queen gone mad and killed off in an horrific way. Not to forget at the end she shows a mothers heart (people will see it as portraying a weak woman) when she tries to run and save her only child. I have always said that I want both factions to be portrayed as evil. Especially in a way that it forces the tv viewer to choose between green or blacks. This path would legit make them more money and generate more viewership. I know its hard to portray the greens as good guys or at-least support them on some way. But if D&D were able to whitewash Cersei and Tywin fucking Lannister, than im sure this new show can pull it off.

I have little faith in writers being able to replicate the success of GOT. Even if grrm is working alongside them. And its true the dance lacks everything that made GOT fun and interesting. But out of all the spin-off shows I think this one is the most likely to come somewhere closer to the success of its predecessor.

God can’t believe anyone actually liked that shit show of a season. Like even if you remove the massive book inaccuracies, the last season was abysmal for a tv shows standards.

Probably ruffians knifing each other in alley ways. My biggest theory is it will be about gangs plus random stories of poor smallfolk trying to live. Im not gonna put much thought into it since i dont really care much about it. But thats what first came to mind.

Yeah supposedly an animated show. HBO is really doing a Disney. They gonna milk this universe for all its got.

Thats the purpose of a pilot. You show it to the big bosses and other professionals that can determine whether it’s good. And if its not they get it cancelled.

Either way a long night series wouldnt have succeeded. It sounds very depressing and its just ice demons. House of the Dragon might succeed. It has that intrigue element of GOT. Although I worry they’ll just make it an action fest. I don’t remember who or where. But I do remember reading a quote from someone that works in hbo. They said something like “This new tv series will have all the dragons you loved and more”. People liked the dragons but it wasnt the sole reason it attracted new viewers.

I heard the pilot failed and they scraped it.
