  1. In Bear Island, because there aren't that many men, women fend off against ironborn and wildling raiders. Women in Bear Island are expected to learn to fight because it's a necessity . When Southron lynese hightower visits the main castle, she's shocked to see a statue or mural of a woman breastfeeding a babe and wielding a battleaxe . Because of her upbringing she thinks this is not womanly. In the South men do all f the combat. Catelyn thinks in a similar way thanks to her similar upbringing . I think she is shocked to also see a woman fighting a match (Brienne).
  2. Cerseis "one good night for one good knight" is one of the most underrated lines in the story ... Although the kettlrblack she spoke to is slow so I don't think he understood
  3. Community notes is the best thing to have happened to twitter. And twitter has more free speech now (there isn't 100 percent free speech though)
  4. https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRPdNAOT5X9Ad7NEMiGq3s-YuWaKaEZwx-xJg&usqp=CAU
  5. What if Joffrey wasn't the monster that he is in the books? What if he was good natured, friendly, gentle and sympathetic? For starters, Ned and family would like him. Sansa would be delighted. There won't be any catspaw to kill Bran. Bran would be safe and wouldn't be handicapped. Winterfell's library would survive. Cat would receive the letter but probably wont travel south. Tyrion is unharmed. Ned finds out about the incest. Robert dies. Will Ned expose Joffrey and his siblings? If Ned's plan fails, will Joffrey pardon him? What else will happen?
  6. About that trees monopolizing nutrients... Wouldn't it be much more with hundreds of giant weirwoods competing with each other ?
  7. - Victarion talking about Dragonbinder This made me wonder just how big the hell-horn Dragonbinder is? It must be MASSIVE. Only a dragon bigger than the Black Dread can bear two of these on its head according to Vic. And Balerion was the biggest dragon known in the series. This is the only fanart I found depicting this horn as giant-sized: 8b7873f1075064a82fda27a173a55508b09c0478r1-300-228v2_hq.jpg (300×228) (aminoapps.com) This also brings up another interesting point - Dragons larger than Balerion existed.
  8. What about Winterfells heart tree standing right in front of a water pool ? its not giant sized
  9. I still don't understand why are these weirwoods giant sized when we don't see any other giant weirwoods in the series ? (Other than this theory's nightfort well tree )
  10. The wall is around 300 miles long. Somewhere in the thread it is mentioned the giant weirwoods number less than 100. So that means 1 walker tied to a weirwood freezes around 3 miles of water surrounding it (east-west). Then shouldnt the same thing be done 3 miles (north south )? The wall would be 3 miles thick then . No, I think there are actually thousands of giant weirwoods.
  11. I don't think Dany would find that very useful right ? Ramblings of a mad person
  12. Why does Quaithe speak in riddles to Dany????
  13. Are the weirwoods actually one massive organism ? They're all connected to each other through their deep root network. They're like Pando tree- a clonal colony of 'trees' that is actually just one organism connected through their massive underground root system Weirwoods with faces are used to see things that happened in the past or the present. They can also be used to store information (things people have seen) in the weirwood roots network. Jaime once fell asleep on a weirwood tree stump. But he still gets a magical dream . That's because the tree isn't actually dead. It's alive. Only the portion that comes out of the earth was chopped off. The stump is connected to the magical roots that also contain memories - things people have seen. Brans weirwood cave has a lot of roots that run deep beneath the surface. They actually connect to other weirwood 'trees'. Besides, we haven't seen any weirwood seeds. They don't exist. That CoTF tells bran the paste he was given to eat contains weirwood seeds. She could be lying . Anyways, this also means the COTF will always have access to the sights and memories from tens of thousands of years ago and all the years between - whatever the weirwoods have seen with their faces. No doubt their genocide at the hands of the first men and andals would always be fresh in their minds.
  14. No worries ☺️ but I still do not understand how did the Wall trees become so tall ? The Winterfell weirwood tree is thousands of years but it's not redwood sized
  15. Yup we can't control who we are attracted to, same with tyrion
  16. Just because Penny is a dwarf like Tyrion doesn't mean Tyrion has to be attracted to her or like her.
  17. Urrathon Nightwalker could be Euron. Urrathon is an ironborn name. As for Quaithes motives, she seems to want Dany to remember that she is the blood of the dragon - a targaryen. She wants Dany to use fire and blood instead of planting olive trees. Why does she want this ? Not sure.
