  1. This one, and the rest of the series, kept popping up into my Facebook feed as a recommendation/ad. It seemed mildly intriguing, but I was having trouble trying to distinguish if this as a series that was legitimate...maybe I'll look into it now... *** Copies of Victor Milan's Dinosaur books were only a quarter at the library book sale...was it worth the pick up...?
  2. Just saw an interesting, to me anyway, thought on Twitter (I know, I know...but it is a valid thought...): If Trump somehow doesn't win the Republican nomination, what happens when he doesn't concede he has lost? Would he? He needs to win, but he doesn't seem the sort to lose what he believes is his (Jan. 6), and simply run as a third party candidate...
  3. As Hollywood and the writers and actors have shown us already, many times over, if we have the will to listen and stop the rise of the AI...
  4. They're really not. Especially the two JJ sequels. TLJ had some ideas, but suffered in execution and especially pacing. There is zero rewatchability in those movies...Rey and Rose are good characters, but used poorly. Finn could have been more, but isn't given much to do. Poe shouldn't have survived past the opening of TFA. And Kylo Ren as a villain is just lacking. The prequels aren't good movies...but I'd still rather sit through watching JarJar than Poe.
  5. I prefer watching TFA when it was called A New Hope myself...
  6. So when a defendant appeals.a sentence because they think they weren't punished too harshly, that's proper to let the appeal court say whether if the original sentence was correct, but the State making its case and thinking the sentence is lighter than what they thought it should be is terrible? If the Appeals Court agrees with the original sentence and the State tries to appeal things again after that, I'd agree with the point more...
  7. It's almost as if that the audience Lucas had in mind all along (at least after the initial movie) in mind was kids...adults? Meh. As others have said, the answer of the Prequels does not outweigh the joy kids got out of the prequels. (Not to mention the desire for toys and other marketable items.) And that's absolutely what was missed by JJ, who made sequels for the fanboys raised on the OT, instead of their children and grandchildren. I don't think the Prequels are overly great, but I have no problems watching them just because when they're on TNT...the sequels? No thanks. No rewatchability at all there.
  8. Okay...now I kinda see how they're developing and setting the Spock/Chapel relationship from the Original Series...
  9. Absolutely none of that fills me with desire to see what happens... though I'm also not nearly as big of a Gunn fan as the rest...
  10. I'd take more cues from Rebels even...
  11. Yeah. Absolutely everything in that trailer male's me really want to watch the show (like I wasn't already)...but then the creep of, but what if happens too...
  12. Yeah...that Wonka thing there...that's a something. Feels like an attempt to blend both Wilder and Depp into one...
  13. Oh I don't think you're wrong...I just think that Zuck is trying for the likeable super-villain based on a cartoon because he's not capable of actual human touches...and he likely thinks Scorpio is the way to do that.
  14. Again, I don't think the whole sub plot (heh) was meant for anything else other than revealing where G'iah's loyalty was...something that would have worked a little better if the show had room to let a plotline like that breathe over more than 45 minutes or so...
  15. I'm convinces Zuck saw the "You Only Move Twice" episode of The Simpsons, saw Hank Scorpio, and said, "That. That is what I need to be..."
  16. Having been able to go to today's Cubs/Brewers game at the stadium formerly known as Miller Park (damn the Brewers)...I gotta say you don't really appreciate the positive effect the pitch clock has made on the game until you're at a ball field. It's been good for viewing (when the MLB isn't blacking out its product, mind you), but the pace just felt comfortable and smooth with the pitch clock. Yeah, you gotta pay more attention if you want to follow the game, but that's not an issue for folks who actually want to follow the game...
  17. I don't think the point of the terrible WWIII plot was WWIII. That was the red herring. The real point of it was:
  18. It was a solid episode of SNW this week. Not earth shattering, but solid. And that they twisted and turned around a number of old Trek stories...and made it their own was just great. That the basic story set up was taken from a line or two from the original TOS pilot is also a nice touch.
  19. It's always a good day when the Brewers lose. To the Cubs. After blowing a lead.
