  1. The dice thing is just an old rumor and is not actually true. One attack per round only really applies to non-warriors though. You get another half attack with two profiancy points and another one half at level 7. The gets you to 2 attacks or which means 4 midgame hasted in the original. Bows get 2 attacks from the start and get the same bonuses and ranged is king in BG1 with how strong ammunition is. If you know how to use debuffs/disablers you actually tend to hit all the time in the early game as early spells like sleep or blind make most fights really easy. Blindly attacking with 6 characters is not how you play the game well at all unless you are using 6 ranged characters which actually works but even in that case one character that casts disableing spells is recommended. Gameplay in BG1 is only slow at the very start and if you don't know what you are doing. In BG2 you can hit 9-10 attacks per round once you get improved haste and even the most difficult fights are over in few round if you understand the mechanics. There is a reason why difficulty improving mods tend to be very popular among people who have been playing the games for close to 25 years now. In BG2 you also hit a point where warriors will only miss most enemies in a 1.
  2. No idea. It never bothered me. I just wanted to point out that characters actually don't stand around doing "nothing" if they do nothing mechanically. There are some changes to game mechanics for the enhanced editions that have haters like bard songs not stacking or some effects preventing haste. Another example is that helmets prevent double damage from crits and in the originals that was triggered by something in the head slot. Which made ioun stones and quest helmet work too. That was changed in the EEs which made the Monk and Kensai become rather squishy. The Monk actually became the most squishy character you can melee with in the endgame that way.
  3. There is also a mechanic that prevents one shotting level 1 characters with less than 14 hp. The games have a lot of hidden tweaks to the 2nd edition. In the original BG1 haste actually doubled your attacks/spells per round which meant that you actually attacked surprisingly often if you knew the buff system. Haste+slow on enemies was devastating. When it comes to unmoded Icewind Dale is more tactical I feel tough.
  4. Sadly the pandemic ruined my streak. I don't get migraines though. I enjoy 3D, 4DX and so on a LOT .
  5. Without modding BG1+2 have cosmetic attacks. If you know the mechanics you get to a point where attacks happen quicker than animations in BG2 with buffed warriors pretty quickly though. 9-10 attacks per round is crazy fast. Apart from that you can actually mix item usage and other things in. The game is way too easy that way without a difficulty mod though. Wands and potions are incredible strong in the first game. The molotov style potions actually penetrate spell protections and magic resistance. You can kill a demi lich in like one round by just throwing potions from 6 characters in BG2 lol... Edit: pausing often does not fee like turned based at all to me as stuff is still happening in parallel. Not having the option to give orders to a party member while it is under attack is incredible unsatisfying to me.
  6. Looks like a fun ride. It's probably the MCU movie I'm most excited for since No Way Home. Loki season 2 is the only MCU content I'm looking forward to even more.
  7. I only watch stuff like MI at home unless a friend wants to watch it in cinema. Action movies don't tempt me to go to the cinema unlike Fantasy/SF or stuff they mainly show at the local arthouse cinema. I really enjoyed the previous one though but that is because I'm a Cavill fanboy.
  8. I bounced hard of the Original Sin games and I'm not excited about BG3 despite the fact that BG1+2 are probably my most replayed games. Jagged Alliance 2 is the only turn based RPGish game I still play sometimes. Apart from that I always found turn based inferior(for RPGs). Jagged Alliance 3 actually looks good but all other reboots of that franchise failed and I will give it a try after it is on sale at some point.
  9. I watched it in the OV at 21:00 and was surprised that it was rather packed. Watching stuff dubbed is the standard here and usually OV showings are not too crowded in the cinema I tend to go to.
  10. I enjoyed it but it did not blow me away. I'm unsure why it kinda felt like they pulled too many punches.
  11. I come from a farmers family and you can't compare small scale farming that spans generations to industrial agriculture. Most people involved on the profit side of industrial agriculture that is based on maximizing short term profits do not care if fertile land is destroyed and water reserves are depleted. They do not care about humans either and most people working in such areas are migrants who work under really shitty conditions(de facto slavery in some cases with passports being taken and ties to organized crime).
  12. I only watched parts of the show back in the day and just noticed it on Disney+. Watching it right now and the interactions between those two are fun to watch.
  13. Got Apple for a month or two and catched up. I enjoyed it but I would so season 2-3 did not approach season 1 in quality.
  14. Catched up on the most recent book by Linda Nagata Needle in the The Nanotech Succession setting. A slow book but I still enjoyed it. She is among my favourite when it comes to far future SF without FTL together with Alastair Reynolds and Robert Reed.
  15. I catched up on MCU series and I found that Ms. Marvel started well but became rather boring. I loved She-Hulk but I'm easily entertained.
  16. People don't think big enough. The endgame goal of the Christian fascists is not restoring relatively recent laws but making being homosexual punishable by death(or at least to stop prosecuting hate crimes). We know that because the have been actively supporting such things in Africa. Killing people lawfully is what being far right is all about in the US.
  17. It all started going downhill when writting was invented. Outsourcing your memory. Disgusting!
  18. Is there a word for rule by judges? Just kidding though as they are owned by the oligarchs anyway.
  19. Playing Sekiro right now. I bounced of the game mechanics when I tried it first after buying it on a sale but after playing hundreds of hours of Elden Ring I tried it again and now I'm enjoying it a lot now even if I'm objectively bad at it. I think there are bosses in this game I died against more often than I died against all Elden Ring bosses combined at this point...
  20. It is also possible that Prigozhin had reasons to believe that Putin had enough loyal forces near Moscow. Also Putin never fled officially afaik. It is just as likely that he stayed and managed to get shit ready for the worst case while taking care of people who supported Prigozhin. As far as conspiracy theories go I guess the one that claims that they got to his family is the most rational one.
  21. I'm a fan of The Rock when he plays a funny guy in a jungle. I will watch a movie that has that premise without even watching the trailer. I never even considered watching a superhero movie starring him. I wonder if I'm the only one who feels that way.
