I misinterpreted your post and thought you are going to buy Amber anyway. Then Tigana Then The Last Light of the Sun
PhelanArcetus
Amazon must love me. Designated Targets (Axis of Time II) Lord Foul's Bane (Chronicles of Thomas Covenant, the Unbeliever) Rogue Warrior II: Red Cell Gates of Fire Godslayer (The Sundering II) Field of Dishonor (Honor Harrington) March to the Sea (Prince Roger) Flag in Exile (Honor Harrington) Hell's Faire (Posleen War) The Forever War House of Chains The Blood Knight Stonehenge: A Novel Armor Dauntless (The Lost Fleet) Throne of Jade (Temeraire) On Basilisk Station (Honor Harrington) Black Sun Rising Neuromancer The Thousandfold Thought We Few (Prince Roger) Gust Front (Posleen War) Collected Fantasies of Clark Ashton Smith Vol. 1 The Honor of the Queen (Honor Harrington) March Upcountry (Prince Roger) I should note that thanks to Baen's free library, I'd read the first two Posleen War, Honor Harrington, and Prince Roger books, then bought the third of each, and here am buying the fourth as well as the first two. Most of these should arrive in a week or so.

thiazyl
Since I've made some progress with my 'to read' list I've allowed myself to buy some books. Just bought: Altered Carbon -R. Morgan Sun of Suns - K. Schroeder Use of Weapons - I. Banks Looking forward to these. Will probably pick up The Name of the Wind - P. Rothfuss soon and Black Man depending on what I think of Altered Carbon (pretty sure I'll like it though!). thiazyl

A couple of nights ago I pre-ordered my copy of Red Seas Under Red Skies #105, limited edition. I was going to pre-order through amazon.uk but they wanted $20 for shipping... so I'll wait until it's up for order on The Book Depository (I really wish they did pre-orders). Fastia
Just ordered Wraeththu by Storm Constantine. I was doing so well with not ordering books but getting caught up on what I had, then I had an Amazon Gold Box offer for the complete Firefly series for only $18.99 and I needed to get something to get free shipping. Although apparently my Gold Box offer was only $1 less than the normal Amazon price for Firefly, so I guess 62% off wasn't as wonderful a deal as I thought (for Amazon anyway since I've seen it for a lot more elsewhere). IheartTesla
I just purchased: Altered Carbon Accelerando Forever War (including the edited out portions from previous editions) The purchases are part of a concious decision by me to get more into SF. I find myself a little unread in that genre.
lessthanluke
Ordered Vellum by Hal Duncan, Spin by Robert Charles Wilson and Black Man by Richard Morgan
williamjm
Accelerando The purchases are part of a concious decision by me to get more into SF. I find myself a little unread in that genre. If you've not read much Science Fiction then Accelerando could be a tough book to start on. It is extremely dense in terms of ideas (and Stross doesn't necessarily take much time to explain them), to the extent that the actual story seems like a bit of an afterthought at times. IheartTesla
Well, I was probably a little too harsh on myself. Unread with respect to fantasy, sure. But I have read quite a few of the classics ranging from almost all of Asimov and Clarke, including some Heinlein, Enders Game, and more recently Spin. And a few others I dont remember (ooh! I just recalled, most of C.S Friedman, David Brin's Uplift series as well as most of GRRM's efforts in the genre) But it will be interesting to see how tough going this book will be for me. Thanks for the heads up anyways!
RedEyedGhost
Yay! My copy of Black Man showed up today. Just one week after The Book Depository sent the replacement for the copy that never showed up (I'm still baffled as to why I didn't get the first one).
