Given the way the series has been written, I find it very much doubtful that either Arya or Tyrion will end up with anybody. And if Jon and/or Daenerys were to marry anybody but each other, the primary consideration would probably be what kind of alliance can be formed as a result of such a union. Then again, Daenerys cannot even have children so you have to wonder whether marrying evens means much to her in a political sense. But if Jon does get to a point where he forsakes his vows and actually contemplates marrying someone, it should probably be either Margaery Tyrell or Arianne Martell.

I like Arya and Gendry, not because cross-gender friendship = inevitable sex, but because I'd like to see Robert/Lyanna 2.0 in the epilogue.

Doesn't Gendry already have that Jeyne girl with the Brotherhood?

Also, I really want Myrcella to get her little Dornishman.

And Dany getting with Quentyn would be cool, so long as Irri learns "The Dornishman's Wife"

Jeyne? As in Jeyne Poole or Jeyne Westerling? (or is it the girl in charge of the inn?) Jeyne Poole is fake Arya on her way north to wed Ramsay Bolton adn Jeyne is under heavy lannister guard being escorted back to Casterly Rock.

Neither have ever crossed paths with Gendry.

Jeyne of the Inn at the Crossroads.

Incidentally, I was not aware that Poole was the Arya stand-in...is that a theory or did I miss that in my reading?

I'd be interested to see how Sansa gets on with the Tyrell boys.

Faranya is talking about Jeyne Heddle at the Inn at the Crossroads. Was it implied that there was anything between her and Gendry? If so I missed it.

ETA: Ninja'd, and yes - Jaime sees Jeyne Poole being sent off to Ramsay from King's Landing, before he leaves for Riverrun.

Pretty much confirmed. Read through the Cersei POVs in AFfC (i.e., "steward's whelp"). I believe Jaime alludes to it as well in one of his own POVs in the book.

Found it:

“In any case,” the queen went on, “Lord Eddard’s younger daughter is with Lord Bolton, and will be wed to his son Ramsay as soon as Moat Cailin has fallen.” So long as the girl played her role well enough to cement their claim to Winterfell, neither of the Boltons would much care that she was actually some steward’s whelp tricked up by Littlefinger. “If the north must have a Stark, we’ll give them one.”

At the end of the series Cersei gets pardoned by TPTB, granted a tiny piece of land, marries Dolorous Edd (Night Watch, no longer needed, got disbanded), and both spend the rest of their lives as rutabaga farmers. Another couple in the neighborhood, turnip farmers and sworn enemies of Edd and Cersei: Loras and Stannis.

Three way marriage that is political, sexually hot, prophetically relevant, and did I mention sexually hot? Arianne/Dany/Jon. They get the North through Jon, Dorne through Arianne, and everyone else through Dany. They have three dragons and three riders. Jon gets two little women, one curvaceous and the other more slender. Both extremely hot and willing to get together with him or the other. I think it is a brilliant threesome. Not to mention the Conquerer had two women in his threesome too. First kid rules all, second kid rules Dorne and third kid holds Winterfell. Fourth kid holds the wall.

Arianne, Daenerys, and Jon would be politically advantageous to all parties involved. And, for what it's worth, Arianne has shown an inclination to share a man. I don't know if it would be happy marriage though. Arianne and Jon are, culturally speaking, diametric opposites. Arianne would also have to get used to being the second woman. But her son would be King of Westeros, so there's that.

The Meera/Bran shippers may need to prepare for disappointment. Ned said in GoT that Bran's paralysis meant he could never have sex.

And Ned is an extremely well qualified medical expert. I'm pretty sure they said that about an 8 year old in a coma at the time...I somehow doubt they have done the necessary examinations to determine if his paralysis includes that particular area. That, and Ned never struck me as particularly sexually creative. Maybe he just can't imagine sex without legs.

My immediate thought was 'tentacle sex' :ack: jesus

Daenerys seems to put great stock in looks. She is physically unattracted to Jorah and that prevents her from wanting him. Why would she ever want Tyrion?

Dany was also what, 14 when Drogo died. She might find, when she's 18 or 19 or older, that some things are more important in a consort than 7-ft.-tall height and ability to slaughter people. Drogo was no fool, but he might not have been politically sophisticated enough to play the Game of Thrones in Westeros. Tyrion is. If Tyrion can exonerate himself of the false treason charge, and become Lord Lannister, with all the wealth of the domain at his disposal, then he would become a valuable potential consort for anyone, even an exiled Targaryen princess.

Or Daenerys might become like Elizabeth I of England, use her unmarried status as a political bargaining chip for many years, eventually grow old, beloved by her people, and pass her throne (provided she has one) to another branch of the family (in Daenerys' case, that could be Jon, or another house that has some Targaryen blood). I doubt that Daenerys will remain celibate, however; and if she is truly barren, then she can have love affairs without worrying about inconvenient/illegitimate children.

I immediately imagined two stumpy torsos going at it. I really wish I didn't have an imagination.

Anyway, here's my list:

Bran (ice), Dany (fire), and Jon (fire/ice) end up in a purely political marriage (Jon is both of their cousins, and was raised as Bran's brother, so yeah, no sexytime for them).

Bran's consort is Meera

Hodor ends up with Osha. The very last word in the series is a very excited "Hodor!"

Sansa and Sandor, together forever.

Arya the Wolfqueen ends up just like Nymeria: with a harem of suitors, most of whom we've never met, and most of whom are very frustrated. In so much of her life, she's had no control, but at least in this, she has complete freedom of choice.

Tyrion / the Summer Isles. The entire Summer Isles.

Samwell Tarly / Brienne of Tarth. They've never even met, but I just love the idea of them together.

Stannis / Maage. Again, they've never met, and Stannis is married, but I once found myself wondering what it would be like if Stannis wasn't married to a R'hllor fanatic, and this pairing really struck me.

That is exactly what I think will happen. I mean, I'd like Dany to end up with someone, but I think a married Dany will actually seem like a less mythic figure to her potential subjects. Also, from the standing of Westerosi politics, I think it's useful if she doesn't ally herself too closely with any one house. She needs to seem to be above politics, I think, if she wants to rule.
