"Tyrion Lannister, the youngest of Lord Tywin's Brood, and by far the ugliest. All that the gods had given Jaime and Cercei they had denied Tyrion. He was a dwarf, half his brother's height...his head was too large for his body, with a brute's squashed-in face beneath a swollen shelf of a brow. One green eye and one black one peered out from under a lank fall of hair so blond it seemed white."

I'm unfamiliar with most of the dwarf actors, so:

Jordan Prentice - Peter Dinklage
Warwick Davis
Toby Jones (Tyrion immediately came to mind when I saw him in 'the Painted Veil')

Peter Dinklage - he has the charisma and charm to make Tyrion likeable, and the acting depth to make you weep for the poor guy. And his height is about right.

I should stop there...

ok number two...

Martin Klebba - his look would work although he is pretty short to be cavorting around with a battleaxe... I've only seen him in POTC... time to see if he can step up the acting?

Peter Dinklage. It is going to take an actor of exceptional talent to do justice to Tyrion Lannister. Dinklage is just that. Brilliant, charismatic, and funny. He would win golden globes and emmy's every year.

Jordan Prentice is a distant second.

Peter Dinklage (Dream Pick)
Warwick Davis ( Excellent choice with some voice changes)
Jordan Prentice ( good actor, don't know about his English accent)
Toby Jones ( Great actor he is short but not a dwarf, the magic of cameras can do something about it)
Mike Murga
Martin Klebba
Ian McShane
Andy Hamilton

I vote Peter Dinklage but my guess is he will be expensive. Everyone knows he is an exceptional actor, and by far the best actor among dwarfs. and I agree, if he gets the role he would have emmy written all over him. Tyrion's character is so complicated if anyone could pull it off its Dinklage.

If any one hasn't seen In Bruges I highly suggest it. Originally I would have voted Dinklage, but his work in that god awful film Prince Caspian has led me to change my choice. Jordan Prentice (from In Bruges), is pretty damn great in it. The only thing Dinklage has over Prentice is a grizzlier look and voice. But Prentice is no Warwick "weiner" Davis. Also, he cavorts with hookers frequently in, In Bruges.

P.S.-that is only movie I have seen him in, so he one for one in my book. Also, he played an American in it, and I was unaware of him not being American; so yes, he has the English accent.

Prentice.

Canada actually, which is closer to US in accent than Brit. So one can't be assured of a decent English accent from him if that is what they will be demanding of the actor who plays the T-pup.

Warwick Davis
Jordan Prentice
Peter Dinklage
Toby Jones
Martin Klebba

I'm rather torn between Prentice and Davis after having seen the 'Extra's' clip upthread. I have absolutely no problem with Davis' voice for Tyrion. I never really had a voice for Tyrion while I was reading, but any voice is OK as long as it isn't the fantasy-typical gravely brogue (like Gimli and all the "dwarven" voices they put in the various DnD computer games). For me the less gravely the better, as it is a way to accentuate the point of difference between Tyrion and the "standard" fantasy dwarf.
