Cuchulain
Thanks to the Malazan Empire forum for pointing out this awesome cover for The Crippled GodThe cover art is nice, but is the number of pages listed on Amazon correct? 509 pages seems relatively short for a Malazan novel. End of Disc One
The cover art is nice, but is the number of pages listed on Amazon correct? 509 pages seems relatively short for a Malazan novel.No. There was a word count somewhere, and the length is standard for a Malazan novel. Old Nan
So is somebody shining a spotlight on whoever-that-is's back or something? It's especially jarring considering how his men are all shadowed. It's not quite as bad as the Book of Transformations woman, but that's not saying much. I like the big fire sky beast. And that's got to be one of the biggest author name/title ratios I've ever seen.
Renasko
Sure, it's cool. But am I alone in thinking it looks just a tad silly, as well? Like something out of a Hollywood summer big-budget flick.
Gormenghast
I'm among the very few who don't like it. Too cheesy. But I've yet to see good Malazan art.I guess it's either Komarck/Swanland or nothing.
Cantabile
My vote is for cheesy as well, but when 99% of fantasy covers are, I'd be hoarse if I complained about each one.
aidan
Eh. Malazan is cheesy as hell. It's fitting for the covers to follow suit.
dillinisgood
Eh. Malazan is cheesy as hell. It's fitting for the covers to follow suit.Agreed. I've never understood the love for those books. I read the first two and I can honestly say that i've only read about 5 fantasy novels that were worse.
nickg
To each his own. I enjoyed all of them. A very good series imo. Not the greatest, but nowhere near the worst.

Cantabile
Love the art style, though the Papyrus font for the title looks a little tacky.
Procrastimancer
Papyrus font always looks tacky. It was the go-to font when I was doing digital design in high school because, you know, it just looked cool, but that was then. Now, when I see it I wonder just what the hell the designer was thinking when he/she went with it. Perhaps because I am reminded of my own amateur attempts at design and my tendency to use it. Poobah
The US cover for The Quantum Thief by Hannu Rajaniemi. As much as I hate to say these things the US cover is definitely better than the UK one by a considerable margin.
The Evil Hat
Cover for Nevill's The Ritual, coming out in May, here. I absolutely love it, quite possibly the best horror cover I've ever seen.

It feels like there's too much empty space between the font and the top of the image though, as though it needs a good ole' fashioned cropping.
