I confess that I am tired of people dismissing female characters that have predominately feminine characteristics as "weak" or not as strong in their own ways as tomboyish, warrior princess types. I think this is just as sexist as thinking that women have to be feminine.

I confess that in the grocery store, i saw a bloke who looked nigh identical to GRRM. He had the same sort of hat GRRM would wear too. Except the bloke wasnt wearing suspenders. If my town wasnt as tiny as it is, i would have actually gone up to the guy and thoroughly inspected him. Just to make sure. I told my mum, "dude looks like GRRM!" Shes all "Who?" Im all "Mum....Game of Thrones guy..." Shes all "OMG I HAD NO IDEA WHAT HE LOOKED LIKE!!" So now my mum has an idea of what GRRM looks like.

I confess that it only bugs me when people write female characters that literally do nothing. But sit around and look pretty. :tantrum: Its the one beef i had with Django Unchained. A certain female character really has no bearing on the plot or anything other than looking nice.

Well, it bugs me when that happens for sure, unless the story is set in a strip club or something and seen through the eyes of a sexist man! :laugh: I am talking about people who bash Dany, Sansa and Cat for not being Asha or something. They can be strong in other ways, not everyone has to swing a sword.

I confess that I am more irritated by two-dimensional female characters in fiction than two-dimensional males. I think this is because there are not as many developed females for me to fall back on, while I can probably think of fifty developed male characters over my years of reading fiction that I can remember.

I confess that I am seriously, seriously disturbed at the thought of Mel raping Jon while he's injured/unconscious, as was brought up on a thread. Thoroughly squicked, and I really hope it doesn't happen in the books.

The other lady character in Django Unchained thats very important to the plot is pretty badass in her own right. And she never picks up a gun and really lays the hurt on anyone. But boy...does that one made a stand!

I confess, I really dislike jon. He is really whiney and annoying. Also his chapters are boring the only thing that makes them bearable is stannis. I was so glad when he got knifed in the back, heres hoping he stays dead. Oh and three toasts to bowen and co, also LF, what a cool guy.

I confess that in a day filled with The Suck, it felt really good to sit down and see this post. Hilarious and a much needed moment of levity.

I confess at dinner tonight at an otherwise craptacular dinner tonight, I spoke to my BIL for a bit about the show. He's been a fan of the books for years and told me he doesn't like the show. One of his biggest gripes is that Dany is awesome in the books but he thinks she's flat in the series and they've done such a disservice to her character so far. It made me feel good that his first example was about Dany.

I confess that I got off a mobile device and went to my lap top to type this. Only possible because I wasn't required to get up from my chair. If I think of another confession, I'll post again.

I also confess that I get all mad when Mel creeps on Jon in the books. It grosses me out because he obviously doesn't like it.

And this is why I love Cat so much. It's very rare to see a not just a strong female character like her but one who is also a mother.

I confess that I still find Cat hard to relate to, but I am starting to like her more and more since being on these forums. I never disliked her, and I always had a lot of sympathy, but I never really loved her. I am starting to now though.

I confess I feel like an idiot compared to some posters who write out eloquent awesome responses that I wish I could articulate (butterbumps is one of the posters I am jealous of lol).

I wasn't offended by that thread either. I felt confused, but also a tinge of pity for the OP, who asked such misguided questions. I couldn't quite tell if I was being trolled. But even in terms of Sansa hate, "psychopath" is a bit egregious.

I haven't seen a lot of Tze posts, but the ones I have seen were pretty awesome. I tend to love your "Jon is not a cliche" eviscerations, because I find it hard to put into words what annoys me so much about people saying that about his character.
