He is alive and is the only person with knowledge as to what exactly happened between Rhaegar and Lyanna. I'm trying to prepare myself, in case GRRM simply leaves that open. But I would love to know. Alternatively, I'd like to know what else Bran can see from the weir wood in Winterfell. What we know so far was really beautiful, I thought.
