Shryke
Let's be more accurate: Rob Ford is now running for his old seat. His nephew got bumped out of that and is now running for trustee.Doug Ford is taking Rob's place. It's Ford Dynasty Musical Chairs.
Aemon Stark
I can think of a few things more cynical and arrogant than said "musical chairs". On second thought, I can't.
Fragile Bird
<sighs> Rob Ford votes won't transfer to Doug Ford 100%. And this mayor's race is no longer about the Fords. Some of the votes will transfer to Olivia Chow, since she is the voice of the people in this race (versus corporate John Tory). I almost fell off my chair when my brother reminded me that when Rob Ford was first elected, Jack Layton took him under his wing and taught him all he knew about being a good city councillor. ie building community contacts, answering telephone calls
Inigima
I've never been to Humber, but had no idea it was so bad. Thanks to this thread I'll never go.Which could mean that, indirectly, Rob Ford saves my life.:(As the old Demotivator goes: It could be that the purpose of your life is to serve as a warning to others. Aemon Stark
An interesting angle to this is that none of the money raised by Rob's mayoral campaign can be used for Doug's, nor even for his nascent ward 2 campaign. So not only are they starting from scratch vote-wise, they start a campaign with 6 weeks to go with no money.

Aemon Stark
What happens to that money, then?It can go to pay campaign debts. After the election anything left over goes to the city!
