Hrulj
Is there anyone here who really likes those 2 houses? I started liking them during the battle of blackwater, when Velaryons took down 2 ships with them and I remember how Celtigar held up the brace with cut hand in it to Tyrion and that made me also feel sorry for them. They seem to be brave but lose despite sacrifices :/
Nictarion
Have you read TPatQ, TRP, or TWoIaF?Corlys Velaryon (The Seasnake) was by far one of the most interesting historical characters. He was all kinds of awesome!
Acnologia Targaryen
yup velaryon fan here
Viserys - The last dragon
Velaryon fan indeed.
Gibzit
The current ones are all pretty bad (except Aurane Waters) but the historical Velaryons (specificlly the Seasnake) were pretty cool.

I disagree. Monford was badass. His ship was burning and he burned to death but he still fought to the end and took down 2 ships with pride of Driftmark. The guy is in Stannis level of Badass :D
Bob Sacamano
From reading the TWOIAF and The Princesss and the Queen, I am a big House Velaryon fan. Corlys, Addam and Alyn are all pretty awesome.
Grietnog
The Princess and the Queen really does make the Velaryans looks awesome. As the above said, Corlys, Addam, and Alyn are all awesome, and really some of the few I found myself liking in that story.
Reginald blackfield
Yes I like all the narrow sea houses, I especially like the Velaryons Sigil as it is drawn by fans.

Ser Arthur Hightower
Alyn Velaryon (Oakenfist) was so awesome he made me like the Velaryons. Don't care a bit about the Celtigars though.
NOT A TARG I SWEAR
Definitely like Velaryon and find Celtigar interesting. Velaryons throughout their history in Westeros have seemed to have a lot of interesting, loyal, well meaning members.
The_Noctua
I like all houses sworn to Dragonstone, but Velaryon takes the cake. At first because I like their coat of arms, and later because of the Sea Snake.
Max of the Magic Friends
The historical Velaryons were all-kinds of cool. The Seasnake is probably one of the most accomplished historical figures in the series, considering everything he managed to achieve, Alyn the Oakenfist was pretty darn awesome, and Addam of Hull is easily one of the most moral and selfless people we've encountered. Honestly, I was really saddened by how far the influence of their house managed to fall in the past centuries. I miss the old days!
Ser Taeser Celtigar
Maybe.
The Onion Kniggit
As followers of the one true king from the very beginning you can bet any Baratheon supporters would. Save maybe Ardrian, but even then you can't blame the sour old man for not being suicidal like the other Florents who got captured.
Ser Uncle P
It's cool that the Velaryons basically started in the Narrow Sea as a Targ Vassal, but are full blown Dragonlords as well as a maritime power by TPATQ, and well after. But it's a shitty fall that Stannis dismisses them as "Codfish Lords" in the present era. Aurane Waters to restore their old glories???
Lord Thaeglei of Frostpyre
I adore House Velaryon.. Their sigil and history sets them apart from other noble houses..
