From an EL James twitter Q&A:

#AskELJames Can you confirm that you will be writing the story of Ramsay Bolton from his perspective, showing he is just misunderstood?

As someone who read 50 Shades to see what all the fuss was about (and deeply regrets it every day), I can attest to the accuracy of this comment

That made me laugh out loud.

Speaking of Ramsay, I have a question: did Ramsay get more screen time than Jaime this season? I feel like he did, but that might be because even NCW couldn't keep me focused while Dorne was being Porne. Ramsay definitely had a more dynamic character arc. I threw up a little in my mouth typing that.

JCRB, sorry about the match.

Well Bronn had more screen time than Jaime, and Ramsay had more screen time than Theon/Reek, and Theon/Reek had more screen time than Jaime...so math says the answer is yes lol

FYI The winner of all the screen time this season is Olly, leading me to believe he is related to the intern who suggested him in the first place

Just popping in here to say this:

Every unsullied I know has the same perspective on the show: they think every character involved in politics, revenge, or whatever is completely wasting their time because the only thing that matters is coming army of ice zombies. It's a perspective I've seen in book readers occasionally, but it is pretty much unanimous with the show-only people I know. The only plot line they assign any importance to is the one where dragons and ice zombies have an epic battle.

... and that makes sense because the other plot lines have no character consistency, logic, or connection to the show as a whole. Why would anyone care about them?

One of the great things about the books interweaving magic and prophecies in the various plots is that it helps ground everything. The flashbacks help everything make sense as a connected, cohesive work. In retrospect, I think the show really lost something important when it decided to abandon those elements from the books. It's become more apparent as the characters have grown physically apart.

Then there's the inept adaptation itself. I don't give two craps about what happens to show!Sansa. I want to know where she ends up because it might shed some light on Sansa's book arc, but that's it. I'm a Sansa fanatic so that's pretty bad. The show character isn't even really a character for me... she's just a random chick they cram into random situations. She has no personality traits, no direction, no anything.

They've butchered everything to the point where I agree with the 'ice zombies and dragons are the only things that matter' crowd. At the very least, they are the only compelling things left.

They should just make the remaining seasons 20 hours of ice zombies v. dragons. That will be way better than anything else they've got. HBO: I am available for hire.

You're absolutely right. In fact, the unsullied I know is still in shock I think, over Jon's death, because they have no idea who's gonna save westeros now. I mean, sure there's dany, but they don't care about her. No Jon = no ice zombie storyline, in their mind.

I was greatly amused as well.

And Arya killing the NW deserter is about her identity as a Stark, which has to do with theme. Themes are for 8th grade book reports. So it's a win win- no pesky themes AND whitewashing a "good guy." :bang:

Next you'll tell me that Arya and Jon have wolves or something. Or that they occasional warg or have wolf dreams. That's just silly. Arya's not wrestling with her Stark-ness. It's only about revenge as its own discrete thing. And Jon certainly wouldn't think "stick them with the pointy end" before he was stabbed...

The other day I was watching one of those WatchMojo top 10 videos. It was about the top 10 Game of Thrones characters. Jaime made the list somewhere around the fifth place, I think.

The main reason they liked Jaime?

''because of how he treats his brother''

Good job D&D, really good job.

I just finished my ACOK reread and there's that part at the end where Peck is honored for his fighting at the Blackwater. And I was like, "Awwww, Peck! Maybe next season, he'll hang out with Jaime in the Riverlands!" And then I realized that it'll probably be Bronn again or something. BroTrip 2: Riverlands edition. Which kind of makes me sad and kind of doesn't, because bro giggles over Peck and Pia would be super uncomfortable.

How did Bronn and Ellaria become the main characters of the Dornish story arc? How did Ramsay become the main character of the Northern story arc? After 75 pages of ranting and raving about Porne, I am no closer to understanding how it is so awful.

Why would he do that? I mean, except because Needle = vengeance, and surely Jon would want vengeance after his men stabbed him for basically no reason at all.

I don't want James to write ASOIAF from Ramsay's perspective. I want Stephenie Meyer to write it.

It's gonna be called Midnight Snow...

Does Ramsay sparkle in the sunlight? Do he and Myranda have their own meadow scene in the godswood?

Ugh, watchmojo, talk about a channel with no personality that almost always ranks everything according to popularity (what's safest). Which of course is a given, considering they pump out how many videos a day? 3? More?! So they don't exactly have time for much research or in depth knowledge. Has there been a Top 10 Olly stares video yet? I mean, they're already scooping the bottom of the barrel, so they might as well do it, may make me watch one of their videos again.

Ugh .......

Sorry.

We need a new thread quickly! I don't see Porne anywhere anymore!

Edit: I bet if they made a 10 worst GoT moments, the dislike bar would be the size of Olympus Mons, because no one is allowed to criticize GoT!

Bah. That website placed ASoIaF below Harry Potter. Mind you, I wouldn't be surprised if they had never read the books and go off by mere pop culture.

Everyone is judged by how they treat the Saint...

...except Tywin of course. Lawful neutral whatever he does. Obviously.
