Meg Mormont
What happened to Arya? What did they do to her? Season 6 is over and I can't stop thinking about how can a 12 year old girl kill two men, cut them into pieces and bake them into meat pie. OK, I got used to the killing part, Arya has killed a lot of people for a girl her age, actually for any person at any age, but this is just bothering. And I can't stop comparing her to Ramsey now, thinking she might take his place as the new psychopatic character in the series? Any thoughts? And sorry if this has already been discussed, feel free to lock me.
Future Null Infinity
I have the same thought, Arya is indeed a psychopath since the brutal killing of Trant and indeed I already put her in the ranks of Ramsey and the Mountain, I always compare her to Melisandre, a dilemma, her intention is good (avenging her family and friends) but her methods are very savage, her name is Mercy but her actions are barbaric (a contrast), she's a girl with a life reduced to a list, she can't see nothing other than vengeance, can Arya see the light at the end of the dark tunnel of vengeance? I don't think so, The actress playing Arya confirmed that Arya is not going to Winterfell
A Ghost of Someone
I think Arya is a dispenser of Justice for her family and I can not, atleast not at this time, call her a "Psycho" for that. Now, is she is killing random girls in the Riverlands and wherever she goes, just to steal their faces? If she is, then that would be another matter altogether. However, given her decency towards Lady Crane, whom she judged to be an "innocent", then it is safe to say she is just targeting those who have wronged people she knew/knows and love/loved. Winter's Cold
Sansa had Ramsay eaten alive by his own dogs, lied to Jon, and abandoned Rickon. Arya betrayed the Faceless men because she didn't want to kill an innocent person.
Meg Mormont
Killing people for vengeance is somethin quite acceptable according to GoT stanards. I think I am ok with that, but I still can't imagine how she baked that pie In my head this beats up almost every brutalism I saw in the show. I don't see Arya as a psycho. She is just taking revenge on her enemies by the brutal ways.
lakin1013
You mean, worse than Cersei? Then NO. If I had to rank females who were emotionally adrift, I would put Cersei first. Next, the Sand Snakes, since they seem to regard killing as a hobby. Ellaria places 3rd, because she uses and encourages the SS. Next would be Dany but she is dependent on writing and acting. The actress has a habit of being removed from her role, rather imperious, and all things seem to go her way lately. She could fall over the abyss into entitled crusader (perhaps she is already there), and that is always a dangerous thing. Arya has a list of people who did evil to her family and she systematically plans to kill them. Her behavior is goal directed and her list is particular. I do not think Arya is in any trouble - yet. What does it mean for Arya as a character when she kills a girl to take her face, butcher and cook two people (Freys, but still) and feed them to their father? A lot, if Martin had written it. D&D on the other hand just thought it would be badass assassin revenge porn. Why care about a character's actions and how it defines that character, the important thing is that we have badass female killing machines with no conscience. I mean, look what a great job D&D did with the sand snakes, they're such deep and complex characters. And not to mention angry brute Brienne. illinifan
I think that TV viewers are meant to be very concerned about where Arya is headed as a character.
StoneColdJorahMormont
I wouldn't put her in with Ramsey in the slightest.... she is more of a vigilante... seeking vengeance for others that have been wronged including herself... her methods are using there weaknesses against them and also keeping with old rituals. By the end of the show she will be the most feared warrior in westeros(stealth ninja like as there aint many of them about), her brother will be the most powerful ( magic wise ) and her sister the most powerful woman in westoros ( position wise ) House Stark will be a force. I think D&D are having Arya to go similar path as she does in the books, just a bit further along since they couldn't have her stick around FM for longer to learn most of their skills as book Arya probably would, since it reads better than watching FM version of Karate Kid montage. But in the end, short of Frey pie which was a shout-out to book fans, book Arya is going the same disturbing path as show Arya would. Book Arya already killed more people and with far less trepidation than show Arya did, and at least couple of them on really flimsy reasons, check Dareon. I think, Lady Crane was put in there to show Arya's leftover humanity and push Arya to Westeros, in the books, I think Arya will leave FM because she starts killing people on "her list" instead of theirs. However, the person that is a better fit for that is Sansa. She is the one who adopts Ramsay's methods. She is the one who manipulates others for her own gain. Ramsay even states that he's part of Sansa now. Therefore, it makes more sense for Sansa to be the new psycopath rather than Arya.
