  1. The ones who drew me in were Ned and Jon, but there are other charactrs who grew on me over time. Most notably Arya, Dany, Tyrion. And then there are some I never got warm with like Cat, Sansa, Jaime, Brienne.
  2. OK, on the risk of making a fool of myself, there is a theory Grey Wind survived ? How the hell would that be possible ?
  3. Very interesting idea. I also don´t believe Jaimes story will end with Stoneheart. GRRM has put too much effort in his POVs to have him simply die for no good reason. There has to be some payoff to his arc.
  4. Hoping, yeah, but I think it unlikely. Jamie is a character who had relatively many POVs without a payoff yet. Pretty much anything important he did was in the first book (Bran and Ned). So unless George is using him as a really large red herring, there has to be some big Jamie stuff coming up.
  5. Arya + Aegon would be awesome. Plus I want some non-related Direwolves for Ghost & co.
  6. So you think GRRM invented Arya, one of the most featured characters in the series, just because after 5 books she´d be the reason for another charcter to cross a line ? Nope. She´ll have an important plot of her own. I admit her future arc is very hard to figure out, but I´m 100% sure it will be important in some way.
  7. I kinda get the feeling you don´t like the Jonrya ship. But face it, many people do like it and I sincerely hope GRRM is one of them.
  8. A. 6 years age difference is no real problem for a working relationship. Not today and especially not in a medieval society where it was common to mary 40+ish widowers to 15yo girls. B. You have to remember that last time they saw each other Arya was way too young to have any kind of sexual feelings. Vice versa Jon couldn´t have feelings for his "baby sister". Now I think Arya will come of age pretty soon and the whole relationship between them will have a major overhaul.
  9. Congratulations ! That´s one I never heard before.
  10. Sorry, missed that. But I think Varys has a very good grip on what a good ruler should be like. Otherwise you´re right, but one can dream.
  11. ADWD Epilogue "No." The eunuch's voice seemed deeper. "He is here. Aegon has been shaped for rule since before he could walk. He has been trained in arms, as befits a knight to be, but that was not the end of his education. He reads and writes, he speaks several tongues, he has studied history and law and poetry. A septa has instructed him in the mysteries of the Faith since he was old enough to understand them. He has lived with fisherfolk, worked with his hands, swum in rivers and mended nets and learned to wash his own clothes at need. He can fish and cook and bind up a wound, he knows what it is like to be hungry, to be hunted, to be afraid. Tommen has been taught that kingship is his right. Aegon knows that kingship is his duty, that a king must put his people first, and live and rule for them." Replace Aegon with Arya and it´s still a perfect fit.
  12. 2 pages and nobody even mentioned my favorite girl, Arya ? Shame! Shame! Shame! I know there is like 0 percent chance of it happening but I want her to be with Aegon. They have soo much in common, they´d be awesome as king and queen.
  13. You´re using the word "might" quite a lot here, I´d be open to the idea of skinchanger Jorah taming a dragon, but he hasn´t shown this ability at all yet.
  14. If he did that before finishing the series, I´d fly over to the US and slap him personally. https://giphy.com/gifs/2p6SXq2yhabo4
  15. First time I heard that idea, and I don´t think it likely. It´s been established that only those of Targaryen blood can ride a dragon. There´s only 2 plausible ways I can think of to bypass it: 1) skinchanging 2) magical gimmick like the horn
  16. You don´t need wildfire if you have 3 portable nukes. If it´s Dany, it´s going to be by accident.
  17. The rumors of wildfire under the city are widely known and Arya was fond of exploring the old dark passages under the red keep. She´ll find some if she wants to.
  18. So, I see Arya as a possibility as well, though I don´t see her as crazy, psychotic, whatever, but for the following reasons: 1) None of the IT contenders in the south would be agreeable king/queen to the north. We have a Lannister (no need to explain) and 2 Targaryens who the north helped to overthrow not long ago. Even if Aegon and Dany seem to be good people, their name taints them. The only agreeable king to the north is Stannis and he is pretty much doomed to die up north. So a smart girl could try to get rid of them all at once. 2) Ghost of Highheart prophecy. So it seem Arya is destined to cause a disaster as bad or worse as Summerhall. Summerhall was destroyed by wildfire.... But the suggestions of the OP are quite posible as well. I only think we will see 2 more battles for KL yet. Cercei and Aegon will butt heads and whoever wins will later have to face Dany. The wildfire will go off in the second battle.
  19. Well, I´d take your quote as proof for my side, but I think that´s a point where you can have different opinions which both are valid. Just want to say, Edmure isn´t the type of leader I´d vote for.
  20. The NW is explicitely not under the rule of the IT, or anyone else. Plus, the IT failed to pay its own dues recently, why would the IB grant somone else a loan on ITs behalf ?
  21. Better hope a certain young girl doesn´t read this.
  22. Nope ! Edmure f***ed up at that point. He had clear orders, he disobeyed them and probably was THE reason Robbs campaign went south. I´ve said it before, Edmure "might" be a well-meaning lord, but he surely isn´t a good one, that takes a lot more.
