  1. I read to books spread out over more than 20 years but if I remember things correctly a chronological order would indeed spoil some surprises.
  2. I read them in the puplished order and I feel it worked well. Apart from Brokedown Palace which is the one non-Dumas style spin-off book. That one I only discovered after the Dumas style books came out.
  3. The books were not written in the chronological order. The most recent one is partially set at at time when Cawti is still his fiancé. The 17 book should come out next year and the original plan was 19 books I believe. 17 books named for the Great Houses, Taltos and a final one with a different name. His writing speed is pretty decent I feel and I think the series will be finished before 2030. There are also books set in the same universe inspired by The d'Artagnan Romances which I enjoyed even more than the main book series. I really enjoyed the The Baron of Magister Valley too which is based on The Count of Monte Cristo. If you like Dumas and like the setting I recommend them wholeheartedly.
  4. With the concentration mechanic I can't even debuff effectively while buffing party members. If I get a 2nd turn I do deal decent damage but that mainly happend in boss fights. I stack haste and Elixir of Bloodlust(gives an extra action after a kill) on the martial characters. Quite often any survivors of turn 1 die to Shadowheart walking near them after casting Spirit Guardians which is just amusing.
  5. It is known that it works because of accidents(and suicide bags I guess) and you pass out after one or two breaths of a nearly pure inert gas. Happend to a former co-worker of mine who put his head in a vessel that had been flushed with nitrogen. No worries it had no lasting effect as he was pulled out. It does not work without causing distress for animals which are capable of sensing low oxygen environments. Obviously any means of execution causes distress in humans unless they are unaware that people plan to kill them. But causing maximum distress and suffering is a core function of the US justice system.
  6. Expectation: I'm a mighty sorcerer and I will kill everyone with spells! Reality: I cast twinned haste on Karlach and Lae'zel. Everyone is dead at the end turn. This is how my sorcerer playtrough is going after getting level 3 spells.
  7. I think the last Bethesda game that did not have a console UI was Morrowind. Released more than 20 years ago. I feel like the company does not care about that particular complaint as I doubt it hurts sale at all. People just wait for the mods if they really care. Annoying but as expected as the sun rising every day.
  8. Bethesda...Bethesda never changes. Is the framerste still tied to the physics engine or did they bother to port the fix they found for Fallout 76?
  9. Hey Freelancer was fun. It had a lot of hidden mechanics that made multiplayer very entertaining. Biggest was that you could disable that magic drive that made ships fly like planes and keep coasting while turning the ship around. PvP was lots of fun because of that. The AI had no defense against that in single player though.
  10. Not completely your fault that you get easily carried away when it comes to war. I remember the early 2000s on the board. It's your culture. Was ours too you beat that out of us in WW1+WW2.
  11. Dude most of us want Ukraine to win but that is how you really get nuclear war.
  12. Started watching From. The first episode did not pull any punches. Pretty graphic but I'm enjoying it. @Werthead mentioned it on Facebook IIRC.
  13. I had a talk with a neighbour a few days ago and she revealed that is is on heavy immunosuppressants . She said she is constantly harassed on public transport for masking. At least her employer still allows 100% home office. This is the world the anti-maskers and the people who tolerate their behaviour (the vast majority of people I feel) have created. Anyone who reminds people that COVID still exists is seen as an enemy around here I feel. I have been harassed a few times myself but only when I went to cinema and concerts masked after mask mandates ended. Never in public transport but I'm a guy and those people usually go after people who can't threaten them. I have only had bad experiences in Austria and Germany though never in other countries.
  14. I guess my restartitis has protected my from endgame problems. Edit: I played me first 2 poper starts very melee heavy and now that I'm playing a Sorcerer I realized that I did not rest enough for things to happen in camp. Even with a Sorcerer I did multiple rests in a row at one point which triggered multiple events.
  15. I would probably give Blue Beetle a try but the release around here seems pretty limited and there are no OV showings.
  16. It does look intriguing even if playing the most good character as evil would amuse me.
  17. I watched the animated series for the first time. Some of the episodes are bad but not too different from bad TOS eps. Others worked really well for me though. Now catching up on season 2 of Strange New Worlds. I gave up on Discovery early but this works for me. I'm thinking about watching season 3 of Picard next. I stopped watching early in season 2 and I have no urge to finish that season to be honest.
  18. I'm suffering from my usual restartitis. That usually happens when I'm still discovering new mechanics in a game. Nothing new I never reached the endgame in Pillars of Eternity despite playing the game for more than a hundred hours and my Baldur's Gate 1+2 replays usually end before Throne of Bhaal. I have been thinking about a future evil playthrough. I guess the standard approach is to play The Dark Urge when you play evil. I find the idea of playing as an evil Karlach amusing though that will probably lock me out of romances.
  19. The game clearly has a lot of weird interactions some people enjoy exploiting. Not that relevant for normal gameplay though. They game is probably way to easy to get much fun out of these interactions unless you try playing solo or so.
  20. It does sound incredible tedious but I found the idea behind it really amusing. I googled it because I just found that weapon for the first time(restarted for the 3rd time...).
  21. Reading up on character builds on the side(I have not even multiclassed once yet ) and people have figured out how to kill enemies by jumping around them. It is based around monk actions that removes the need for a bonus action for jumps and a weapon that causes thunder damage when you jump near them. A level 3 thief/2 monk hits 53 jumps per turn with a combination of wood elf plus some early game items and haste...
  22. Sadly those shows do not seem to available around here. But thanks for the recommendations neverhanless.
  23. I case anyone feels like messing around spells with attack rolls(not auto hit ones) can now sneak attack which is probably an unexpected side effect of this. (From patch notes:) Edit: You need to have a bow equipped for it the work though.
  24. Good suggestions. I might give Cheers a try. I really enjoyed Fraiser and it is a spin off after all. Never saw it back in the day. I dunno if Austrian TV even showed it. It is on Paramount here which I currently have(mainly got it because of Fraiser). Malcolm in the Middle, Fresh Prince of Bel Air, Scrubs and Blackadder are shows I have watched and enjoyed in recent years. Never seen more than a glimpse of MASH but I see it is on Disney+ I might give it a try too. Sanford and Son I had to google and it looks interesting but it was sadly never dubbed back in the day and the streaming services usually don't carry stuff that has no German track here. 3rd Rock from the Sun is something I have already on my list and I should get an alert from a streaming info website if it becomes available here.
