Fai
Lets all predict how the song will end. If lots of people reply, one of us is bound to get something close to what happens. Here is my 2 pennyworth, not in chronological order. Rickon Stark's story is essentially a shaggy dog story. Arya Stark never goes back to being Arya Stark. She becomes a facelessman permanently. She assassinates the Hound (or Sansa), after Sansa and the Hound becomes close. Brienne is forced to kill Jaime. In the Vale, Lady Stoneheart tries to kill Sansa 'Lannister' and Brienne kills Lady Stoneheart to protect Sansa and keep her oath. Sansa is raped by Littlefinger; Sansa bites off Littlefinger's little finger and kills him. Blackfish joins up with Sansa's group. Sansa's group joins up with the Snow Men. Tyrion tries to ally with Danny, but Danny doesn't trust Tyrion because of Quaithe's prophecy or because of her irrational hatred of the usurpers. Quaithe is Joanna Lannister. Quaithe's prophecy comes true because Daenerys sees enemy in every shadow and turns potential allies to enemies [the prophecy would not come true if it didn't exist]. Either Danny tries to kill Tyrion and he escapes or Danny lets him go. If Danny does try to kill Tyrion, there will be a trial for Tyrion's kin slaying. Tyrion's 3rd trial will be the one where he pleads guilty for the first time. Tyrion will make another spectacular escape -maybe on Viserion's back-. Tyrion then teams up with fAegon:The Black Dragon - (f)Aegon BlackfyreThe Griffin - Jon ConningtonThe Manticore - Tyrion Lannister Tyrion will fight on 'a griffin's back' against the falcon and win back what the Griffin King and his mountain clans once lost 6,000 years ago. The northmen will make Jon the King in the North. Stannis will be betrayed and possibly killed by the northmen -they love him not nor his red god-. Melisandre will realize Jon is AA and also betrays Stannis. The Strangler will kill Cersei: Tyrion's plan. Aegon Vs. Danny. Dance of the Dragon v2.0Martell teams up with fAegon on the surface while secretly supporting Danny. Danny wins.Tyrion dies or flees to Jon (King in the North). Jaqen H'ghar kills Sam and takes his face when Sam shows the pig boy the horn that Ghost found. That horn is the horn of Joramun. The horn of winter is also a dragonhorn, only dragon fire can bring down the Wall. Bloodraven is in cahoots with the Night's King, he uses Bran by having him warg a dragon and melt the Wall; then he tries to dispose of Bran. Hodor saves Bran and dies in the process.Bran is found by Benjen or Benjen is found by Bran. Benjen is a wight and kills Bran. Bran lives his second life in Summer and loses his greenseer powers. The Wall falls. Sansa becomes the Night's Queen. Jon and Danny team up against the White Walkers. The wights are controlled by the white walkers. The white walkers are controlled by Bloodraven and the BR is controlled by the Night's King. The real BR is in Mormont's Raven, the BR in the cave with Bran is the Night's King warging BR's body. Danny negotiates with the Night's King and comes to a peace treaty. Jon betrays Danny, kills her and breaks the peace treaty for his love of the realms of men. DAMN! that was one of the best endings I've ever read. My bittersweet ending is pretty simple: A member of House Targaryen is restored on the Iron Throne and spring arrives and his duty is to help rebuild the 7 kingdoms after the destructive war against the white walkers. it'll be either Aegon, Dany or Jon. Oh and loads of characters will die...OBVIOUSLY!
It's Not That Littlefinger
I have no idea what will happen at the end. that is all.
sj4iy
Dragons will burn some stuff, people will die and much badassery will be done.TBH, as long as we have that, I don't care whether it's bitter or sweet.
Lord Damian
Bran never leaves the tree and will raise legendary creatures from the ground that pre-date the children, the others and white walkers are destroyed mostly by his devine intervention. Summer leaves him for good. Meera, Hodor and Jojen as well as the last of the Children all die. victory is sweetRickon is the last member of House Stark, all of his siblings die. - bitter/sweetDany gets the Iron Throne but tells no one she is baren - future story - who will succeed her? - this is bitter, I dislike TargsTyrion gets the Rock but mines are empty - sweetAll Freys die, Ser Brynden gets Riverrun and marries, producing a son and heir - sweetHouse Tyrell wiped out as most of Reach burnt - Selsye Florten dies - Shireen gets Reach through some house gardener lineage. Gets Stormlands too - richest land owner and this gets her dates and suitors, kid deserves it too. - sweet.Asha marries the Glover that nailed her and gets the iron Islands - sweetDorne is ravaged by Dothraki, dragons, whords, Martell family is gone - very bitterVarys, Littlefinger and Illyrio all die by dragonfire - very sweetHouse Royce takes over the vale - Who cares? Ser Greg of House House
Well, part of it is that Arya will be found dead, frozen and holding Needle. The foreshadowing is pretty straight forward.
JonSnow4President
Jon and Dany marry or forge an alliance at some point. Jon must sacrifice her for the greater good (ala Nissa Nissa). Jon rules as king of everything and everywhere, but regrets having to kill Dany.Tyrion, at least initially, gets Casterly Rock, but discovers its an empty honor for him.Arya completes her list, but struggles to find meaning outside of vengeance.Sansa takes a relatively quiet life by marrying someone (Harry the heir, Garlan, etc.), never getting to be queen, but realizing she prefers the relative anonymity on the national scale. Jaime kills Cersei (very sweet) in a manner that completes his redemption arc, but as a kinslayer and kingslayer, is hated/killed by the realm.Bran becomes a tree. JonSnow4President
Dany dying would make me very happy, Unless her character development turns around, it would me too. However, I believe we are supposed to like Dany, which is why I see that being bittersweet in GRRM's mind.
ToTheWolves
I've been thinking lately that part of the bittersweet ending is that the starks never reunite, but all separately contribute to the restoration of their family/house or to save westeros...or something like that. KingOfTheRock
Tyrion - As he stumbles around Essos with Penny he finds Tysha, who tries to kill him. He has to kill Tysha in self defense. After this, he commits suicide. Alternative ending: Tysha's death happens the same, but he goes on to fully embrace the monster he thinks he is. In his quest for vengeance, Penny gets caught in the fray and is killed. As Lord of Casterly Rock, he is just as ruthless and respected as his father. Many people wonder why they rarely hear his laughter anymore, yet after all that's happened, Tyrion restores House Lannister to a large amount of power, proving himself as great as his father. - Very Bitter, other than Tyrion restoring the Lannisters to power.Cersei, Jaime, Tommen and Myrcella - As the White Walkers close in on King's Landing, Cersei "The Mad Queen" kills Tommen with poison so he won't be taken by the White Walkers. Myrcella is murdered by the people of Dorne, after some of the Sand Snakes get killed. To stop the White Walkers, Cersei goes through with what Aerys tried to do. For some reason, Jaime is in King's Landing, and when he hears that Tommen was killed by Cersei, he strangles her as the Wildfire explodes around them. - Very BitterThe Stark's Reunited - All of the current Stark's remain alive until the end of the series, but when they reunite it is not as great as people think it will be. They've all changed so much that they can't find comfort in each other as they barely know who each other are. Rickon is incredibly savage, Bran wargs so much that barely anybody knows he's there (Or he stays up north with the COTF), Sansa's rage that has piled up over the books has come out, Jon has died once and is almost as broken inside as Lady Stoneheart, and Arya is a murderess. This will be a lesson: The pack survives, but they never are the same again. - Bittersweet, more bitter than sweetDaenerys and Aegon - She becomes Queen, and as she has learned over the years of how to be politically adept, she is a good Queen. Yet, before the book is over, some lords of the Seven Kingdoms are scared that she will go mad like her father, so she is assassinated OR, she trusts her dragons too much, and in an accident, they kill her. Aegon is then proclaimed King, only as a last resort, for he has been found out to be a Blackfyre. - Bitter or Sweet, depending on your views of the characters. The Boltons - Before the Battle of Winterfell, Roose Bolton proclaimes himself King in the North. He dies in the battle but Stannis' forces are driven out and Ramsay is named as King. Ramsay tries to rule, but is hated. When one of the Starks is shown to be alive, the northmen kill Ramsay. - Sweet as can beThe Freys - Walder Frey dies, and the Frey's destroy themselves, but even the innocent ones are killed in the fighting. - BittersweetStannis and Co. - Stannis also dies in the Battle of Winterfell, which leaves Shireen as Queen. Melisandre wants to sacrifice Shireen to the fires and ends up getting away with it. At this, the Lords that were loyal to Stannis abandon him and join any of the other claimants. Melisandre, when the Other's have been defeated is killed, but dies with a smile on her lips, knowing that she saved the world. The Lesson: For the Lord of Light, you win, but you lose everything you loved with it. - Bittersweet, more bitter than sweetJon Snow - He comes back to life as Shireen was sacrificed to bring him back to life. R+L = J and he is the AAR/PTWP, his Nissa Nissa is all of the wildlings (Or Shireen) and all of them die fighting the White Walkers because he commanded them to fight first.Knights/Warrior of Westeros - Brienne is a member of the Kingsguard, but blames herself for Daenerys' death. Sandor Clegane lives a quiet life on the Quiet Isles. Jorah becomes the LC of the Night's Watch. Barristan Selmy dies protecting Daenerys. I may edit this post later to add more....(Also, I'm very aware that a lot of these are bitter.)
Ali Colak
1: The Starks reunite, with the exception of either arya or Bran (not both), and perhaps Jon. If Jon dies, he will be the only other Stark family member to do so. 2: Of Tyrion, Daenerys, or Jon, one will die.3: Cersie will die, along with one of her brothers, leaving the other (probably her twin Valonquar) alone.4: The land will be reunited (at least for now), with certain unpopular people (probably LF) still in power and perhaps an uneasy alliance.5: Laydy Stoneheart will rest in peace, with all guilty Frey's dead.6: Tommen's death will be faked, and he will be sent to live in the Free Cities. Myrchela may be married to the current king, if their is a king on the Iron throne.

Twenty of House Goodmen
Humanity triumphs over the Others while taking serious losses. Jon rejects both his Targaryen and Stark name and remains Snow. Despite being AAR, his name is forgotten similar to the Last Hero. Several key characters die heroically(Dany, Tyrion, Arya, and Jaime) while others die less satisfying deaths(Stannis). Bran forever remains a tree. The Iron Throne is destroyed and the kingdoms seperate into their natural states with several of the great houses not making it to the end. Kyoshi
Bittersweet: Some people save the world but no one ever knows about it. Their names are erased from history. OR the people who save the world are misunderstood and maligned and history remembers them as the villains. Absolute Bitter: Arya dies. Missandei dies. Absolute Sweet: Dany finds a house with a red door and lives happily ever after. Jon lives, not as UnJon.
paptrapper
Euron, Littlefinger, and Sansa will be the real villains before all is over. Euron and Littlefinger die, Sansa will see her mistakes and redeem herself (bonus-be saved by the hound) Arya-becomes total badass! Bittersweet though she finishes her list and dies by the end of the series, I predict kills cersie as the valonquer (see tyrion) dany-makes it to westeros, is the PtwP though likely loses all she loves (dragons) and settles for bravos and the red door and lives happily Jon-as a believer in the grand northern conspiracy I think he will be king of the north, even though he's a targ he will accept Robb's final written will and accept being a stark, he will be AA and KotN, stannis-will be a great general in the war for dawn with AA, after the war will be sent to the wall and actually be happier than anybody else (lol) as the 1000th commander of the new watch Tyrion-somehow meets tysha again though bittersweetly will die, will at least die happy knowing he and tysha really loved each other, OR we be lord of casterly rock with tysha as only living son of tywin jamie/cersie-they are not lannisters, they are really targs (too much evidence, insest, 1/2 is batshit crazy, cersie infatuated with fire, both beautiful and blonde,) cersie will see all she loves ruin and be killed by tyrion (arya wearing tyrions face). And Jamie YES Jamie! Will sit the iron throne at the end, though the north will claim independence and to save westeros from more war and death KL and the north will reach a truce
